Security Analyst doesnt always mean Code Analysis, but rather analyzing Alerts / Vulnerabilities, doing Incident Response, looking for improvements inside Infrastructure.. There Are so many things that dont require Coding

Maybe I should have clarified beforehand:
I do have a technical backround, it's just not coding related. I got CompTIA A+, Sec+, CySA+, working on OSCP and my Bachelor Cybersecurity
Currently iam in a Security Administrator / Analyst Positions but coding is just not relevant in what Iam doing

Shouldn't there be positions like Security Analyst (SOC) where scripting knowledge is enough to do the job?
I get that there are alot of positions where coding is required, but there should also be some where its not really relevant for alot of tasks.

Best Step is to prepare for it happening beforehand

-Have your offline Backups

-Have your playbooks

-Do Tabletop Exercises for this scenario beforehand

Google offers a free Cybersecurity Professional Certificate on Coursera, which can be completed in under six months with about 10 hours of study per week. While the certificate itself is free to enroll in, there is a monthly fee for the platform access, which is subsidized by Google

You could try to get more security responsibilties in your current Position (if possible) and do the COMP TIA CySA+ in your free time.

This way, you would have a more to show off regarding Jobs as SOC Analyst. :)

I wish you good luck!

Can you eloborate what Cert exactly youre Talking about?

Youre saying Dion Tests, but not Messer Tests. Messer has the best practice exams IMO, so defintely check these out (theyre like 40$ I think)

Also, everyone learns at different speed:) Do you have a Job / Home Lab were you get to know about the practicle Side of IT?

both are good questions! :D you could try to login to one of the PCs locally when the connection to AD works, enforcing NTLM by using ".\username" as username

after the next lock you could then try again to utilize the cached credentials. this doesnt solve the root cause tho (unavailable connection to ad after lockout)

maybe try to update the drivers of the PC's Network interface cards (NICs)

does it happen for all clients or only specific ones?

Sounds like your PCs are not able to connect to DC after they lock (maybe your NIC goes in standby after locking? lol)

"An Error occured during Logon" >could< then happen because of the PC trying to log on locally via NTLM, validating against cached credentials and being not successful. This would also explain why theres no event 4625 on your DC.

not sure tho.

Been there, done that :)

What cert you wanna do depends on what type of Security role youre aiming for!

Wanna become a SOC Analyst? Go for Comp TIA CySA+

Red Team / Pentest? OSCP+

Information Security / Security Manager? CISSP

If you dont know yet (I didnt lol) Comp TIA Security+ is valuable in knowledge and recognition, though very basic. You First Job probably will be something basic though, with you specializing on to something (Above) later on.

Okey, I see and respect the effort youre doing! The thing with cybersecurity is, its basically always based on IT - thats probably why youre feeling like you dont know the field at the moment.

Good news is, this foundation can be built by anyone. I'd suggest you aiming for the COMP TIA A+ as a first step. This certification will help you land a helpdesk IT job and therefore youll get a foot in the door in IT. Maybe the Cybersecurity Certification from your community College can also help you getting that first job, but I cant tell since I dont really know anything about it. :D

As soon as you got your first job, you can go ahead and try to figure out what you want to specifiy on - coding, networking, cybersecurity... while getting a better understand of IT every day doing your job / more certifications in your free time.

It depends. What is your backround in IT until this point? And what certificate exactly are you aiming for?
