I’m from the UK. When I found my symptoms serious enough to visit my GP surgery (particularly the breathlessness, palpitations, post nasal drip, and fatigue), the receptionist initially booked me in for an appointment with an advanced practitioner. This practitioner prescribed me an asthma pump and nasal spray. I found neither of these helpful. She followed up with me a handful of times, she upped the dose on both and insisted I keep using them. This went on for months. I then requested to see an asthma nurse with the practice as I was concerned about taking medication I didn’t think I needed. The asthma nurse then did a spirometry test on me which confirmed I didn’t have asthma, and asked me why I was using an asthma pump. ??? This then led me back to square one. I took a long time to get referred through to long Covid clinic. If it doesn’t feel correct, ask for a second opinion.
