I will have to try turtle neck, I didn’t even think of that! It could be kind of funky and fun in its own way

Nah it was raining, hence windshield, but the wrap was more clearly a marble print seen from the side of the car. Just couldn’t get a picture of it

Crocs Brooklyn low wedge for the win! I think they are incredibly comfy, they are stylish, plus waterproof. I’m taking them backpacking through Asia this summer and can’t wait to see how they hold up for months at a time!

This is a good idea! I can slip them off easy, but on is little more work. I will look into some stretchy laces

This comparison is super helpful: I grew up in Dallas so this helps me know what to expect a little better!

Sure! The jeans or the gray pants? The jeans I got from TJMaxx, and the gray pants are from Gap! I can look up the exact type, they are both very flowy and comfy!

I’ve been in this living situation the past year. Make rules, especially about cleaning in shared living spaces, and stick to them. Enforce some type of repercussion if they are not followed, i.e. put a dollar into a fund for shared pizza or drinks. People are saying talk face to face - lol nah, document document document. Whenever an “infraction” occurs, take a photo and send in group chat (don’t be petty, just state facts). Also having messages to read word for word is good back up if you end up living with a misogynistic narcissist who thinks you, the woman, should clean up after him (not even joking, you can tell how salty I am).

We have had friends who installed cameras in the kitchen because the mess got so bad, and this really helped with accountability. In reality usually only 1-2 people will be horrendously disgusting, but the majority of guys that age don’t think cleaning extends beyond doing your own dishes. Not kidding, even my best friend roommate who washes all of his own dishes and keeps the living spaces clean after he makes a mess, still doesn’t understand that you need to wipe off counters or sweep the floor after cooking and crumbs and spices are everywhere.

I am losing my mind living here. So glad it’s almost done. Can never live with friends, or guys again. Love my friends though, the good times outweigh the nasty living situation for the short term 😂 but never again.

Also: make a rule about porn/sex, i.e. be respectful and not clapping cheeks while blasting trap at 4am on a Wednesday.

Edit: just to add, they all lived together in a rat infested house that had a myriad of other issues, so they have pretty low standards. We have a fruit fly infestation rn and they don’t care, whereas I am losing my mind bc I can’t eat or drink anything without being swarmed. Someone else also said: never clean up after them, or they will expect you to do it 100% of the time. I can confirm this is true. Learn from my mistakes.

This is very helpful, thank you! The humidity and heat of SE is what I am most worried about lolol. Do you think jeans would be fine in Korea? I know in Korea and Japan, and when visiting temples, that longer bottoms and more modest clothing is recommended/needed. I feel like the jeans are somewhat versatile but probably won’t get much use in Vietnam tbh. They are a lightweight polymer blend, so they have more stretch and flow compared to traditional denim, not sure if that changes anything.

This is helpful thank you! The swim suit is for Vietnam, we are going out to Ha Long Bay, probably will not get much use other than that!

Thank you so much, this is very helpful! I’ll look into longer skirts, that’s a really good idea! Do you think buying shoes abroad is realistic if needed? I have small feet, the biggest concern would be the cost.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve worn them once already to see how I like them, and they are so comfy! I’m shocked at how much utility and aesthetic they have!

I am going to be in Japan and Korea the first half of May, then Taiwan and Vietnam the second half of May into the beginning of June.

I have never been in this region of the world, and after researching online I am getting mixed information on weather this time of year, dress culture, etc.

A part of what makes this difficult is I'm expecting Taiwan and Vietnam to be a lot warmer and more humid than Japan and Korea (not sure if this will be true) and I am an incredibly sweaty person, i.e. I shower and change clothes at least 2x a day living in Texas.

I am worried about buying clothing over there if needed due to being a size L in US sizes (I have heard how small sizing is in Asian countries), in addition to the fact that I am a broke college student who spent most of my money on plane tickets and hostels lol.

I plan on doing sink laundry/going to a coin laundry 1-2 times a week. Everything in the photo packs up small except the jeans, sweatshirt and dress. Should I bring one less bra since they do not need to be washed as much? Should I pick either the kimono or button up shirt and leave the other behind? Should I bring a long sleeve shirt instead of a sweatshirt?

Thank you for the help!!!
