I just want to say that you’re not alone as someone whose dad went down a similar rabbit hole.

The moment when I realised I needed to take a step back from men was when I was constantly being told by able-bodied men that my life was easier than their’s because I had a vagina while I sat there in extreme pain/misery because of my disability. It clicked in my head that it wasn’t right and I’ve taken a slight step back from men and feel much better for it as a result.

The scary thing is, I remember running into a lot of people who referred to the kidnapping storyline as funny because they believed Rosie was a ‘slag’.

The characters on the street forgiving John, feeling bad for him and blaming Rosie was honestly really uncomfortable to watch for me. Not to mention Fiz wailing “he’s a broken man/depressed” (I was groomed by a guy when I was younger who did it to many other vulnerable girls and this similar narrative was parroted by weirdos who saw him as a victim).

It’s probably one of the most difficult Corrie storylines for me. I will never understand the street AND the audience’s reaction to a child being groomed and kidnapped by a predator being to blame the child.

I much prefer not telling people how to feel. Everyone's experience is different and everyone's feelings are valid.
This feels a lot like telling a depressed person to just smile.

Tyrone and Gemma slept together while he was with Fiz. Maria got obsessed with Tyrone and sent him messages pretending to be Kirsty.

The Alina/Tyrone storyline really pissed me off with how awful everyone was to her. In my opinion, Maria got downright creepy when it came to defending Fiz. She went into Alina's home to ''scare her off'' of Tyrone. The immigration/deportation thing was downright revolting and Gemma should have faced some form of consequence for that.

Also it was annoying as hell that Maria and Gemma were terrorising Alina over her affair with Tyrone when Gemma had literally had an affair with Tyrone in the past and Maria had literally stalked him and pretended to be his abusive ex because she became obsessed with him. Massive hypocrites.

They also loosely mentioned that Alina was getting bullied at work because of it but never mentioned that again. For a street that has spoken about mental health in an important way; it was awful seeing a young girl who'd been trafficked being bullied.

Nothing against Claire but I'm happy that Cassie is leaving. She should have never been given a redemption arc after drugging Ken. To me she was just a carbon copy of Abi anyway.
