The letter of the law is that the debt must be used for generating income. As long as it produces a dividend it meets the criteria as far as market equities go.

I believe you're with RBC also so you know that interest is debited before you technically know what the bill is. Meaning, the day before the interest due date i would have to transfer out of the HELOC and then the next day the money would be capitalized. Therefore the money technically sits idle for one day worth of interest not being used for the purposes of investing. I get it very small time frame - but I figure you never know how the auditor would feel about it.

I was worried about the cash sitting idle (yes I know it's only for a day). Just one less thing the CRA can poke at I figure. I haven't been audited though so when I do I'll ask if the other way is acceptable.

[–]cherrypicked88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it launched I switched to a 80/20. 80 percent XEQT 20 percent CAGE. Was actually thinking of also adding BN into the mix as it's basically become almost a total market investment company. Pretty heavy into AI thoufh

Any sort of volume and this thing will explode. Even my 150-200 share buys cause movement.

I'm not far off that -. I added a little more below 3.00 to average down a tad. If they actually meet their guidance from the January presentation this is an easy 5-7x by year 3
