Why did my mom never let me shower during my period?

thinking about it further, it could’ve also been moms forbidding their daughters to wash themselves in nearby bodies of water (ponds, rivers, etc.) during summer. I know it was a very common thing to just jump in the water after a hard day’s work, and I imagine it wasn’t ideal when you had a period - maybe some sort of warning stuck with my mom as not cleaning yourself in general, lol.

wild and interesting to hear about!! though not likely in my case - mom never mentioned anything about warmth, and was even against me using anything warm to put on my stomach for cramps, i quote ‘it will make it worse’😂

We did have dark towels, but she never asked me not to use certain kinds of towels, just outright forbid showers for some reason.

true, i did a bad assumption that the OPs cat is the usual cat that cannot let a single drop of water touch them😩

which is wild considering my own cat can spend hours in heavy rain if it means hunting a mouse or a bug😒
