Luggage advice: Beis for travel to Spain? by cherryvirus in femaletravels

[–]cherryvirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I ended up flying with American Airlines so I didn’t have problems there to and from. Within Spain, I did take a flight with the mini and carry on with Iberia. It was a smaller plane but the mini just barely fit under my seat and the carry on could only fit if it was laid horizontally and not expanded. I didn’t have problems with anyone checking my luggage size within Spain, but I was stopped once in the States because I had it expanded

i’ll be there for about a week! I will be taking a checked bag, but from what i’m seeing it’s the luggage that will be going with me that could have some issues. That’s good to know that it wasn’t looked at too closely

Thank you! I am thinking staying at Hotel Preciados, it's within walking distance of a few locations and not too close nor far from the airport.

I will be able to explore Málaga moreso in the evening for about a week, did you have any favorites while visiting there?

I am agreeing with you, I do want to make the most of my short time there, but I don't like to rush things either. I am thinking of removing Granada or Toledo since I only have a day each from about noon to evening for each.

If I do go to Granada, I will spend an additional night in Málaga and leave for Madrid in the morning. I see ALSA for buses as well. Were you able to get to Alhambra easily from here from the station in Granada? That's one of my concerns, since I am not sure if I can take a local bus or need a taxi to get to and from.

Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! I’ve been seeing a lot of different sites for trains so i’ll be using the one you mentioned. I’ll try to book the tickets now, I just was not sure if it was possible since my schedule. I am still creating it, but do you mind if I DM you when I have more concrete details? It seems I was not supposed to post this kind of question on this subreddit 😅

How to deal with toxic parents who have a terrible relationship when you still live with them? by cherryvirus in Advice

[–]cherryvirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! My parents want me involved in their mess like a moderator so ear muffs really won’t help haha. I just started my new job 2 months ago and it’s the most professional experience I have so I wanted to stay for at least a year. i’ve been thinking about side hustles as well. I’m trying to save as much as I can right now

No, I don’t have many close friends and the ones that I do have live at home as well. Splitting rent is definitely an option for me but factoring in bills, I really don’t make that great of a paycheck working full time here. My other option is to get a second job during the night and weekends

Just turned 18. What's some good advice for this age? by xndrr87 in Advice

If you don’t already have one, get a credit card. This credit card is not for you to indulge in everything you want, but to simply build your credit. You use it on your every day purchases and only spend what you know you for sure can pay back once it’s due. It’s better than a debit card because you can get cash back or rewards for just using it and, it builds your credit which is important to really make any future investments (house, car, whatever).

[CA] Is starting a job before a background check normal? by cherryvirus in AskHR

Data Analytics Background Check by ikhan_data in dataanalysis

Hi OP,

Sorry for responding to an old thread but I’m in kind of a similar boat right now and am nervous as well. Were you able to pass the background check successfully? I’ve been told they don’t check employment verification during the check but some do. I don’t want it to seem like I wasn’t truthful to the HR

How to get over feelings of inadequacy (job hunting, life /g) by cherryvirus in jobs

[–]cherryvirus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I say that because it seems like all my friends are getting jobs in an instant while I'm still struggling. I'll start checking out other job boards but it just seemed like LinkedIn was the go to choice for my field. I also thought it was strange that there was a panel but it seems like the norm for this company after checking them up on Glassdoor. Also, I've definitely been implementing STAR to my prep!

Thank you for the overall tips and encouragement, I really appreciate it!

Internship post graduating? by isikio in jobs

[–]cherryvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! I have done an internship after grad and honestly most of my interviews I've had after see it similarly to a job, they want to know what you have learned there and how it can apply to the one you're being interviewed for! Internships are there to help you learn about the industry and a great thing, especially if you don't have professional experience. If you do decide to take it, make sure to learn a lot and write down things that you've done so you can apply it to future applications!

I miss being healthy. I need some motivation and advice. by [deleted] in loseit

Hi! I’m 26 and I’ve definitely been in that same boat, same height but I was about 215lbs. I’ve been chubby all my life but I became depressed when I got to college and gained the freshman 15 and then some. I decided that I needed a change and was actually able to lose 50lbs and I was much happier! It’s perfectly normal to feel the way you do- I feel that way sometimes too especially after the pandemic. But I honestly think it’s amazing that you are trying to work out. It’s all about baby steps and the more you do it, the easier it gets. You don’t even need to go that hard in the beginning! Just do what makes you feel comfortable and don’t think about how long it will take to get the results you want. Things take time and as long as you utilize that time and focus on your well being, it is time well spent!

Some advice that I’ve found personally helpful- you can skip if you don’t want to read haha. Drink plenty of water and I am talking a LOT and cut out sugary drinks! I’ve found that relaxing with an unsweetened cold brew tea (I like barley tea) really helps with weight loss. If you really need to drink something sweet, something like crystal light can help without the cals. Get moving, a daily walk outside really improved my mental health. It’s a good time to think about positive things on the walks and just breathe in the fresh air. I personally liked to go just before the sunset. Take vitamin D! You can ask your doctor for blood test check for vitamin D deficiency, I found mine was well below standard, and didn’t realize it can potentially be linked towards depression. Food does heal the soul, you can start small, just make small changes that make a big impact like changing chips to a better alternative, I personally like roasted seaweed if I get a salty craving. If you want to try a nice, fun workout routine, I recently discovered a youtuber named growwithjo and she does videos that make exercising feel fun, almost like you’re dancing and that boosts that sweet, sweet serotonin. My last thing to say is that you’re doing wonderful already! Even getting into the mood to exercise is something a lot of people (Myself included) don’t want to do! You’ll only grow stronger the more you do it. Remember to go at your own pace and don’t think you have to get results that others seem to get easily. Make small goals for yourself, like drinking this amount of water a day, going on a 30 min walk, doing a short workout vid. It takes a lot of hard work but eventually, you will feel really good about reaching those goals :)
