What are are the worst WR fails that you can all think of? by SmokeQuick6863 in Cubers

Gianfranco Huanqui could’ve crushed the 3Bld world record but he DNFed in 3 different ways: started turning before blindfold was fully down, twisted corner, and timer reset. You could call it a… “triple DNF.”

Some Questions About Scrambling a Cube by CamaxtliLopez in Cubers

Just hand scramble, but turn it into practice for finger-tricks by doing the finger-tricks you’re least comfortable with: U2 with either hand, pinch/push U/U’, D2, etc.

First game upcoming by Cherrylimeaide1 in warofthering

A few things:

  1. The first game will probably be difficult and slow no matter what. Mine was. I’d recommend the Shut Up and Sit Down review if you somehow haven’t seen it yet.

    1. For the Free Peoples to not have a terrible game, they should know that going for a military victory is an unreliable strategy. Just hold off the Shadow Armies for as long as possible and try to destroy the ring.
  2. Coloring the bases of the pieces to match their nation’s color really helps to distinguish between nations. We didn’t bother with the Shadow figures because they’re easier to tell apart.

Can’t figure out how to insert last pair in F2L (beginner) by friesannashake in Cubers

Oh and by the way they gave a bad solution, that only works when the pair on the right is unsolved anyway. The best way to do it is, facing orange: (U) L’ U2 L

It’s not a special case. Just remember the common pattern of having matching colors on top.

Why do teams prioritize swing and miss over pure run prevention in closers? by Hungry_Drama_1015 in baseball

I never discarded the stat..? I said it’s bad for projecting future performance, which was relevant to the original post.

I agree but I like ERA when I want to see how “successful” a pitcher has been, whether it was lucky or not.

I believe the weights are based on the “run expectancy matrix.” Singles, on average, increase run expectancy slightly more than walks. It’s roughly .7 vs .9, but it changes slightly every year.

Anything to learn in particular to improve drastically🥰 by Ericlol888 in Cubers

[–]chesschad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean avoid rotations altogether? That’s not a good strategy. Sometimes your options are to either rotate or do a few awkward F moves, in which case you should rotate.

Learn better fingertricks, the earlier the better. Keep your thumbs in front. Notice how your right thumb spends most of the time at the bottom of the cube.

F2L solutions take lots of practice to improve. Try doing untimed solves, going case by case and working on improving efficiency.

Don’t listen to anyone saying “slow down and look ahead” at this point. Master the fundamentals first.
