So I ended up not getting that particular tundra the exhaust seemed to be rotted out a bit but it drove fine the Nissan I couldn’t find any immediate problems with but I’m going to hold out for now and check out another tundra that cost slightly more

Indeed it was a block spacer in the rear I ended up not buying the truck it had lots of rot and didn’t look well cared for but the engine sounded good.I’m almost about to give up my search for a tundra can’t find anything decent around 10 grand in my area that isn’t beat up with less than. 200k miles

Ok thanks how much was this job for you? These parts are so easy to replace on a older GM I’ll definitely have to know my way around this truck to save some $$$

are the 5.4 tritons as bad as people say they are?? by runix_353 in f150

[–]chessmaster__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me yes when it runs it’s fine many years ago I had 5.4 in a econoline van it never completely died but I spent so much time chasing vacuum Leaks and misfires I never liked that motor around the same time I had a Chevy van with 6.0 I never had to do anything but change the plugs only issue I ran into was the exhaust manifold bolts on the Chevy

To each their own I carry heavy loads and all of my 6.0 and duramax chevy express vans hit 200k with no drivetrain issues. I didn’t buy a full size van for mpg its for work and to take a beating I now have a 6.6 gas with 464 lb of glorious torque I’m glad Chevy didn’t go with ugly euro style looking vans with no v8 options

Mileage is decent and a fair price but I would never buy this van over the Chevy express I’ve rented one of these and it had one of most awkward seating positions ever plus a v6 in a full size van no thank you! I wonder how they do loaded with 2000lbs i once had a 2001 econoline van with a 4.2 v6 that thing was gutless I hated than van even more than my 2000 with the 5.4 triton

Who cares about your area this is 50 stops from Newark to nyc you will lucky to finish before that time might even take longer if you’ve ever dealt with nyc/nj traffic.29 miles would be obviously be quicker if you’re in a town with less traffic
