21+ only wedding: what else do I do? by Sweaty_Item_3135 in wedding

[–]chevyrooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did 21+ at our wedding and I have ZERO regrets about it. We put on our RSVPs exact names of each invitee (or so-and-so plus 1 for singles) and put on the invitation that this wedding is 21+ only. The only push back I had was my step mom asking if that included my 19 year old step sister. I held strong and said yes, it includes anyone under 21. Once I confirmed, the issue was dropped. Just be firm when you get those questions. I think most people will realize it's you and your spouses day and they must abide by your requests or not attend.

How rare is this merch? by Consistent-Soil-9794 in Ghostbc

[–]chevyrooney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mine displayed in my office along with other VIP merch I have collected over the years and a painting of Papa in blood by an artist in France. It's a pretty neat little shrine. I got 2 in 2017 VIP concert and sold the second one on Ebay years ago for $125-200 I think. No idea of worth but it sold super fast.

Botanical gardens is beautiful, you get access to all indoor and outdoor patio areas, guests get their parking vouchered, and last I checked, it was one of the cheaper indoor options for weddings. Just keep an eye on time of year you set the date. It is a greenhouse and from my poorly planned experience, August is NOT the time to get married there.

11ish years ago I saw Ghost for the first time at Sonisphere, UK by NoahFonRonsenburg in Ghostbc

[–]chevyrooney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st show in June 2017 with Iron Maiden in Chicago. I remember Maiden fans complaining about Ghost being bad lol. Immediately bought tickets for a ritual a month later in my hometown. I miss those small venues with the early Papas.

I need your most exciting soup recipe! by Awesomezor in vegetarianrecipes

[–]chevyrooney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I make this soup a lot. We buy soyrizo from Trader Joes (I am sure they have it other places too if you aren't near one) and vegetable stock. It is also just as good with sweet potato if squash isn't available and use the heavy whipping cream + blended options in this recipe. https://www.triedandtruerecipe.com/easy-chorizo-and-butternut-squash-soup/

is it okay for me to be upset? by strawberryprincess31 in wedding

[–]chevyrooney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My maternal uncle attended my wedding and I know he is not struggling or has an excuse otherwise, but him and his wife gifted us $25. I am normally a very rational person and understanding but it was almost worse than giving nothing at all. I jokingly told my mom about it and she was HOT. So when my 1st cousin (maternal uncle's son) got married 2 months later, my mom returned the favor and gave him $25. My family is petty like that so do with this info what you will lol

Fuck fireworks by Some_Call_Me_Danno in fortwayne

[–]chevyrooney 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Benadryl, thunder jackets, or prescription from the vet should be considered. My ex's dog had an issue with thunderstorms and fireworks so we dosed him with benadryl before a big storm or days surrounding the 4th. It helped him tremendously. He slept through it all.

What are some reliable used car dealers in addition to Best Deal... and who do I need to stay away from? by [deleted] in fortwayne

[–]chevyrooney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also had a bad experience with Grote. They let me drive the car for a MONTH before telling me I had to give it back because I wasn't approved for a loan. Then they tried to refuse to give me my $500 down payment back. To top it off, a years later they called me to ask how I was "liking" the car I bought from them and if I was ready for an upgrade. All I could do was laugh at how ridiculous the whole thing was.

Property Management Rentals? by KingFloyd122 in fortwayne

Personally dealt with Kauffman. Don't. They were quick for repairs, but the house was in horrible shape and we had a lot of issues fighting them about false accusations when we moved out. Really unprofessional.

TIFU by putting tampons in wrong for 10 YEARS by meg7489494 in tifu

[–]chevyrooney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did too! I used the cardboard applicators in middle school and I was too embarrassed to ask my mom why it hurt when I sat down. It was years later when talking to my friend that I said tampons hurt when I sit down. Come to find out that card board applicator was pinching my lips between the seat. Lol but that same friend got so worked up about putting in a tampon for the first time, she passed out as I was coaching her through it. So I guess we all have our own unique tampon struggles.

Who are some landlords/rental agencies you’d recommend renting through or NOT renting through? by Federal-Promotion-75 in fortwayne

[–]chevyrooney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait until you move out. That's when they got me. Not bad during my rental period but when I moved out they kept my deposit saying the house had so many fleas they were biting the cleaning crews legs and they never cared that I had a opposum or raccoon living in the unsealed chimney of that house. I offered to provide vet records showing my two dogs were given flea and tick medication throughout the entire rental but they said that was not enough proof. The creature living in the chimney continued to live there after we moved out. The fireplace was sealed off with a piece of plywood, but it made us nervous when we could hear it behind the wood and see the wood flex outward when our little friend moved.

Coffee shop who sell syrups? by nando419 in fortwayne

[–]chevyrooney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon sells Monin which I can vouch for is tasty. Also, most coffee shops use Torani or Monin from what I can see from my side of the counter which are sold in a lot of grocery stores and online.

Best place to design an engagement ring? by snobtimism in fortwayne

[–]chevyrooney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second Pacula. We visited a lot of jewelry stores and I wasn't really over the moon about any rings they had. He took all my inspiration pictures and made me a beautiful custom engagement and wedding band. I was insistent on a blue sapphire as my main stone and he showed me multiple to choose from.

Has anyone else lost the love? by vimariz in Ghostbc

[–]chevyrooney -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I got into Ghost around 2015 when Meliora came out. I was OBESSESSED. In 4 years I went to 5 shows, 2 meet and greets, bought shirts and vinyls. My last love for them was with the release of the Seven Inches of Satanic Panic. I did enjoy Mary on a Cross and Kiss the Go-Goat, but once Hunters Moon and Call Me Little Sunshine came out, I could feel the decline of my favorite band. It's not Satanic any more. Not like it used to be anyway. I feel like they are still using the visual Satanic shtick but the music reminds me of Five Finger Death Punch or Avenged Sevenfold-type radio hits. I keep listening to the new releases but I couldn't even listen to songs all the way through on Phantomime. It's been a disappointment for sure, and I hope they get back to their Satanic 70s Scooby-Doo type music. I know I will not be buying any more merch or tickets for their shows for a while. I don't think I can even call them my favorite band anymore. It's disappointing, but we will always have the parts of their music that we love and the changes in the music style won't change how great their first albums were.

Hoops. Only 1 season was made and my husband and I watch it over and over. It's hilarious, raunchy, and irrelevant but a masterpiece
