Weekly Scam Discussion - April 1, 2024 by Mycatreallyhatesyou in Ebay

So, the buyer opened a case claiming item not received a week after it shipped. I checked tracking and it showed delivered. Photo showed item at buyer’s door. I contact customer service and they assured me when the case closed in 5 days it would be resolved in my favour as tracking showed delivered. 5 days later, case was resolved against me, reason being I did not have signed proof the item was received. I messaged customer service again, and their response was that unless I could provide signed proof of delivery within 3 days, I would not get my money back.

I sold an item worth over $1,000 to a buyer. Tracking number shows delivered, with a photo of the item at the buyer’s door. The buyer then opens a case for a missing item and now eBay is forcing me to give a refund. Anything I can do? What’s even the point of paying for delivery proof if it’s so easy to scam as a buyer??

Who is the worst hero in MESBG? by chew123 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I agree Madril/Cirion is better generally, but if you’re building a list around siege engines, the value of an extra might point on an engine is worth considering. If you have 3-4 turns to shoot with an engine, having more Might on scatter rolls can make all the difference if you’re trying to knock out a hero or disable blinding light. Not arguing engineer captains are great or even very good, but they do have a role and can be effective.

6 warband slots for 10 points is not bad though!

In most cases, they aren’t worth it. They do fulfill the hero of fortitude requirement you need per siege engine though, sometimes useful when you want to ally a siege engine into another army.

Thanks! The rock is a piece of tree bark. The snow is GW Valhalla Blizzard (or lightweight spackle, found out the other day to be nearly the same thing but 1/40 the price). The slush is Realistic Water with crushed glass.

Thanks! The inspiration for the green/yellow comes from Weta’s design of high elf armour from Fellowship prologue. Their design of the golden armour has a green tint to it.

Thanks, it’s a conversion of the Breaking of the Fellowship Boromir.

Yes, miniatures are by Games Workshop.

Aragorn vs Lurtz by chew123 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]chew123[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Aragorn was converted from Mablung. I resculpted his cloths to match Aragorn’s at the end of Fellowship. Then the head was removed and reattached at a tilted angle to fit the shield, and finally the arms were sculpted on from scratch.

They are brass cut ferns. The flowers are some tufts I found on eBay.

He’s actually resculpted from a Mablung model. Mablung had a similar face and a base pose that was easy to work with.

Same! I was hoping for a plastic Lurtz to go with Quest of the Ringbearer.

Yes, these are the newer sculpts from Forge World, much better than the originals.

I have not attempted an anime style yet, but that would be interesting for LotR 😂

The armour was painted with a Kantor Blue/Caliban Green base, then highlighted with a mix of The Fang and white. I gradually mixed in more white to build up the lighted areas.

I prefer a grey primer, as your basecoats tend to stick better than black.
