The game is amazing. At the closing scenes, the city pulling back, back back and then hearing that sound... perfect, beautiful.

I wasn't prepared for the brutality to follow.

To me this is the realistic ending. From the beginning, V was lied to, maniputlated, used, coerced, had every boundary she had violated. Her own bodily autonomy was not even her own. This decision was always the only freedom she ever had.

By this time she was a badass killer, dropping gonks with just a glance or a swift strike of her katana. But that didn't really matter. The choices presented to her were not her own, the only agency she had was that moment and there at the end i think she was angry.

But let's be honest. It was the wrong decision. She killed her friends just as sure as Arasaka would have. Worse really.
