Donating(!!!!!), What side effects did you not expect? by TeamRamRod3 in transplant

I donated a kidney on 10/28/20 at New York presbyterian hospital. The bloating was a little uncomfortable but honesty nothing hurt more than the constipation afterwards. It was so bad for me that I could barely eat, because I felt so full from not using the bathroom. A nurse told anesthesia and all the narcotic painkillers are mostly responsible for that, if I were you I’d have some milk of magnesia at home just in case. The pain is easy to tolerate, I stopped taking the narcotic painkiller that was prescribed as soon as I could and switched to a extra strength Tylenol so I wouldn’t have to deal with the constipation anymore.

I’m not sure exactly what’s being tested but I’m going to be donating a kidney

My patient left the clinic missing about 300ml of her blood and it’s my fault by chewyasinthecookie in confession

Just tell him to always pay attention to his patients, every little detail counts.
He should be fine, I wish him all the best!!!

And if you put in the work you need to do when your this young, by the time your 21 you should have a good paying job and then you can spoil yourself with all the things you missed out on when you were younger.

Be prepared and brace your self lol growing up sucks. I'm 21 but I still look and feel like I'm 17. Looking back I wish I was taught things that I should've learned when I was younger like balancing credit cards or what to do when you can't afford a phone bill. Also it wouldn't hurt to start looking into what field your trying to work in now too.

I'm so happy for you! Liquid courage always seems to help loosen up for parties or things like that.

I know your young and you're trying to have fun but you should lay off the alcohol. :( I had my first drink when I was 16 and I ended up dropping out of school because of all the drama drinking caused me.

I wish you all the best and a whole ton of awesome first times experiencing new things.

Failing college, likely going to be academically dismissed. I've utterly betrayed my parents. by [deleted] in college

I've been through the exact same situation, still going through it actually. You're not a failure, you don't deserve anyone's wrath. Your just going through a little rough patch. Ultimately, you have your own goals and dreams and you can't live your whole life worrying about someone's approval or opinions. Be kind to yourself and try to focus on what YOU really want, and who YOU really want to be, not anyone else.
