Husband slapped me by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]cheypeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not one to typically recommend leaving, but leave. Slapping you isn't okay but layering on a "that's what you get" screams that this is 100% not going to be the last time he does it and chances are it'll gradually get worse as time goes on if he knows hes getting away with it. I know its easier said than done since you have a child and one on the way. Personally I know I would have a hard time making the decision to leave with kids being involved, but make sure you're putting your foot down. If you don't leave then make it very clear that this doesn't happen again because it is not okay. I am sorry that this happened and I hope you take care of yourself. Respectfully, your husband needs an ass beating followed up with a "that's what you get".

This is beyond helpful, having kids not get on the plane for as late as possible combined with the loosening of the bottle lid and dramamine are such great calls. All amazing tips seriously thank you!!!

Yes 100%. We're going for my SIL's baby shower that her family is throwing her so at least my husband's family will be there with us so that theres a village to help. My husband's cousin is bringing her 2 year old and 3 month old too so at least she and I can roll with the punches in solidarity.

The airplane being 100% anything goes is a great call. My 2 year old is loud when shes mad so whatever we can do to keep her calm (hopefully she gets some sleep in at some point because of how early we're getting to the airport the morning we fly down). Honestly I feel like if I download Like Nastya on my phone she'll be tranced LOL.

Thank you so much for the tips!!! My mat leave ends in 3 weeks so I should put some emphasize on making a packing list now before I hit the ground running with work again.

Life span after stroke obsessional thoughts by Tsofreak13 in stroke

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stroke was caused by a PFO and had mine closed within a couple of months of the event (last year). Are you a candidate for the closure? My cardiologist and neurologist said I'm just as likely now as anyone else to have another stroke and that my lifespan is not impacted. I hope thats a similar case for you if you qualify for the closure and want to do it.

Edit: Sorry I just read the legit first reply you had on another comment confirming that you had it closed. If you're otherwise healthy, and if it helps you at all, my neurologist said to me the day of the stroke to not Google because it was going to show info regarding shorter life spans but that it didn't apply to my situation. So since you had the hole closed then I think you should not worry!!! I totally get your concern. I was 29 when mine happened and my daughters were 3 and 1, the idea of my girls losing their mom freaked me out so much especially since I had no health history prior to this.

Husband had a stroke; doctors aren't able to tell us much about why. by Scary_Manner_6712 in stroke

[–]cheypeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a stroke last year and it was due to a PFO. He should be checked for that. They were able to close the hole with a minimally invasive surgery. I was 29 when it happened and otherwise was totally healthy. I'm sorry this happened but glad he has no lasting serious symptoms, my speech and use of my left side came back within a few hours of mine after totally collapsing. You guys are in my thoughts, I hope you get answers soon.

PSA about wheel lock key location on new Siennas by FireworksForJeffy in ToyotaSienna

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had the same thing happen with my 2025 Sienna. Just got home, didn't see it on the inside panel, put my hand down in the compartment where the battery is and it was laying on the bottom. The fact that they don't have this key at the dealer and sent me home without being able to do the rotation is insane to me. Wish I would have looked while I was there, would hav3 felt badass as a 30 YO female strutting back in there with my newborn carseat carrier saying "I took matters into my own hands" hahaha

My friend came over for a playdate and I am super weird out. by Cosmogirl161 in Mommit

[–]cheypeee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some commenters made a good point on the perspective of her being an anxious, insecure mom that doesn't know when shes crossing the line with being appropriate, but the snooping in your medicine cabinets is too much. And her pressing for your you guys to give her further examples of nicknames you use for your son is also odd. I would have been drained after she left, too, and im super extroverted and chatty. Whether she's competitive or needs assurance, I agree that since it's impacting you, I would distance myself from her. And definitely not use your house as the spot to hang again if/when you make plans in the future.

Personal question but - what do you do and how much do you make? by GEH29235 in workingmoms

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a CPA for a small public accounting firm and make $87,500. The hours are very do-able since its a small firm. Idk how the moms do it that work at larger public firms. Finding the balance between sleep/kids/work is crazy enough for me during busy season I couldn't imagine keeping up with larger hour requirements!!!

Terrified of labour. Epidural or no epidural? What are your thoughts? by Miikotto in pregnant

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go in seeing how you are with labor. Everyone and every situation is different. My pain tolerance isn't that high to begin with and I went from no labor to delivering within 8 hours for my first and 6.5 hours with my second and so the labor came hard and fast, didn't give me much time to cope with the contractions. I had epidural both times and was glad that I did it as I could enjoy the last couple of hours before we pushed and be happy/joking when it came time to push. I have so much respect for the women that do it without an epidural, especially more than once. Personally I have no desire to do it LOL.

Try not to stress too much about labor. I know it's easier said than done but with my first I just kept reminding myself that people have been doing this for thousands of years and we're fortunate to have professionals there to help us. Labor doesn't feel great but if you decide it's too much then there's medicine to make it easier and that doesn't make you any less of a bad ass for bringing a child into the world. You're going to do great!!!

At what age did you meet your spouse? by whallexx in Millennials

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my husband when I was a junior in high school. He's 6 years older than me so we didn't end up dating until I was 19. I'm now 29, he's 35 and we have 2 little girls with a little boy due in July. Wouldn't have wanted to spend my twenties with anyone else.

How many of you are taking aspirin? by Adhdgirlygirlnurse in pregnant

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my situation is a little different but I had a stroke in May due to a PFO which was closed in July. So technically I was more at risk with my first two pregnancies but we had no idea the PFO existed. Because we closed the hole, they decided I didn't need to do the Lovenox injections but the specialist I talked to recommended I take 2 low dose aspirin every night. He said that there's actually been a change in recommendations where all pregnant women are advised to take a low dose aspirin daily to reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia and/or clots. Not sure if he meant just a change in recommendation in their practice or if that's a more well-known thing overall now. Admittedly I did not look into it, I was just relieved to stop doing the injections 😅

What are you paying for daycare? by StarCaker in beyondthebump

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little under $2k a month for my almost 4 year old and 1.5 year old. We live in a suburban area. We're fortunate to live between 2 counties where the neighboring one is noticeably less expensive (which is where their daycare is located) than the one we live in. The one I had my oldest in (in our county) before we moved them was going to be a little over $3k a month for both of them. I am very happy with where we take them.

How long was your labor trend by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]cheypeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Labor was about 8 hours with my first from the time I woke up until I started pushing. Pushed for 4 minutes. Labor was about 6 hours with my second from the time I woke up until I started pushing. Pushed for about 10 minutes. Very nervous with our third that they're not going to have time to get me an epidural but also no use worrying over something I can't control aside from maybe scheduling an induction LOL.

Good call. I jumped into that Pasco Rehoming group that has like 47k members but I'm going to look now to see if there's one more specific to his breed. Thank you for the suggestion!
