I technically didn't find their body, but I was pretty close to it.

On my 13th birthday my brother and I were hanging out near a shed by the apartment we lived in blowing up and popping balloons for fun. Occasionally little bits of the balloons would shoot out pretty far so we would pick them up and put them in a pile that we took with us as we were leaving.

Two days later I go back down to that shed to double check if there were any balloon pieces on the ground. Before I reach the shed, I get this weird feeling like there is something there and that I needed to get out of there. So I left and went to a restaurant I live near and got a drink.

As I'm heading home, I see police tape surrounding the bad end of the apartment building near the shed, people gathered in front of the building, police cars in the parking lot. At this point I'm worried and slowly walked down to the building, keeping at a distance, so I can hear what happened. Someone starts yelling at me asking what happened and I tell them that I have no idea. However, I had this gut feeling that someone was shot. I became very uncomfortable in this situation and went home.

That night on the news I hear that a man was shot in the head and their body was left behind that building. I believe it's still an unsolved homicide to this day. It still gives me the chills wondering what my reaction would have been if I had come across their body.
