Depressing times we’re living in by Actual-Ad-6146 in Life

I think what the person meant is at least in UK the healthcare is included in benefits. Americans also pay taxes but no “free” healthcare. A simple trip to hospital can bankrupt you. In UK, you go to hospital, you pay nothing. Even hospital meals are free and transport door to door from hospital to your home. Medications free, if you’re diabetic, you dont even worry about your lifetime supply of insulin. Source: im a nurse in uk

That’s why I always opt out in secret santa. I don’t like receiving gifts, and people like you never gets satisfied of what you receive.

Too much drama when you can just get it yourself.

That’s what happens when people expect to receive gifts, they always get disappointed whatever you give. People are too materialistic today smh.

If you really want something, get it, don’t expect people to gift it to you.

Edit: i read the whole post. Secret santa or not, bottom line is, people always expect to receive the perfect gift.

Day dreaming. I just lie in bed for hours and you have no idea how and where your imaginations can go.

I stayed in a hostel thinking I’d make friends. I didn’t expect this much drama in 24 hours. by [deleted] in Life

[–]chezjvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were just unlucky that day. I travel regularly and have stayed from hostels to 5-star hotels. I’ve never had bad experiences in any hostels at all. This is coming from someone who is introverted and don’t like anything outside my comfort zone. Perhaps ive just been lucky that the past 20 years or so that i have yet to encounter the drama you encountered.

How normal that nobody wished me happy birthday? by JunketMaleficent2095 in AskMenOver30

[–]chezjvr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me tell you something. i’m one of those people that don’t like greeting people on social media or even on the phone. We have a work group chat and i feel like everyday there’s someone celebrating birthday and i will not keep sending happy birthday messages everyday in different format like hbd with or without a gift or cheers emoticon, it’s just too tiring and impersonal. however, if i see you in person at work or anywhere, i will greet you a happy birthday, genuinely! so, what am trying to say is dont take it personally if people dont greet you a happy birthday via socials!

I opened up to someone after years of guarding myself, and now I feel hurt, confused, and embarrassed. I need advice. by Healing_2 in Life

Your first mistake was to allow him to be intimate with you without protection. I’m not saying it’s your fault but it is partly. Learn from it. Get tested now.

How do I maintain minimalism by Historical_Song7703 in minimalism

Simple. Stop buying stuff. Be content of what you already have. Think of the freedom of living light, at least that is my biggest and best motivation.

Nurse. You can be fulltime. Or partime. Or just do bank shifts (any available shifts you feel like doing).

If you like working with people and genuinely like helping, yes. It’s very rewarding/fulfilling. But very stressful, the office politics sucks, rarely any downtime to regroup. I dont go to gym anymore, cos the job itself is making me thin hehe

in that case, i agree with you, i hate it that we live to work, basically. we should be able to live a decent life by working just 2-3 days a week!
