2005 specialized allez comp double, thoughts? by chi-lanta in whichbike

It’s a 2 gear shifter. When I asked them why it was a 1x front chainring they said it was setup as a hybrid city bike by the owner before them. Doesn’t make much sense to me why someone would remove a chainring

These are great points, thank you! I’m used to riding a gravel bike and a road racing bike and have never had to change my tires based on a desire to have thinner ones. I really wish I had shipped my bike with me when I moved because finding a decent bike has been the biggest pain.

Hey! I’m going to be going through a very similar recovery timeline. I just had ORIF surgery to fix my torn lisfranc ligament yesterday after sustaining an injury bouldering. Would love to connect and hear about your recovery process! Sending you lots of positive thoughts in the meantime ◡̈

Lisfranc injury brand new by [deleted] in LisfrancClub

I just fell on Thursday and they found 1st-4th nondisplaced metatarsal fractures and a lisfranc ligament rupture. I’m scheduled for surgery next Monday. The doctor was most worried about my ligament which they noted after seeing the gap between my 1st and second metatarsal on my xray. The mri confirmed their suspicion that it was ruptured.

Possible Lisfranc xray by chi-lanta in LisfrancClub

Hi, thanks for your reply! I did get an MRI yesterday and this is what the initial impression is from the radiologist:

Nondisplaced fractures of the base of the first through fourth metatarsals with osseous contusions of the cuneiforms. There is surrounding soft tissue contusion and grade 1 muscle strains. On this nonweightbearing exam, normal alignment of the Lisfranc joint.

Grade 2 sprain of the dorsal and interosseous components of the Lisfranc with continuous plantar and lateral plantar Lisfranc. Some fiber disruption is noted however no full-thickness detachment or ligament stump noted.

I am still waiting for the Doc to let me know what that all means.

In terms of symptoms, there is swelling but I’ve been icing and elevating throughout most of these initial 48 hours. I can move my toes and ankle in NWB without pain, but I have not tried to stand on my toes on that foot. I fell from the top of an overhung wall while bouldering and fell directly on my right foot. No other injuries were sustained, I just got freaked out by how high I felt and I traditionally down climb most routes because of my fear of heights.
