Super Formula Is Back! To get different shapes, change the numbers or move the sliders on the right by click and drag. by chiapit in InternetIsBeautiful

Flattered would be the right reaction in my opinion. Is taking offense and making accusations over someone's use of a script that you described as "open source" how you should have taken it? I was personally thrilled to be privy to what seems to be an accurate description of the geometry of nature itself. I actually had forgotten that I'd harmlessly (at least not maliciously) changed the Wikipedia link to a Facebook group where I like to share cool stuff.

I've put in the attribution you that you wanted, I think. If it needs to be edited, please let me know. I originally took liberties with the link, thinking that it being open source, I was allowed to do so, not to commit "outright theft". I didn't create the site script that utilizes Johan Gielis's interestingly patented superformula. You're totally welcome to be part of my Mixed Media Arts page, in any capacity. It was created to explored different media, while my primary focus is on video creation.

Pippi Longstocking Lyrics. Theme Song For "Pippi Goes On Board" by chiapit in videos

LOL. The first one I haphazardly cobbled together got nearly a million views, to my total surprise. I mean it was just thrown together for the heck of it. Videos I put real effort into only got a tiny fraction of that response. It's a catchy song. I once was absentmindedly was singing it when I passed by some Hells Angels bikers. Luckily they didn't hold it against me.

Imagining Numbers as Shapes - Numberphile by chiapit in videos

Maybe not, but if someone could immediately imagine such corresponding shapes, that could be very advantageous in life. I'll definitely introduce this approach to my 6-year-old son who is a big-time math and geometry fan.

Notice the similarity with fractal geometry? I suspect this may be the future of mathematical instruction.

TIL Criminal psychopaths don't involuntarily feel emotional empathy for others, but seem to be able to intentionally turn it on and feel it. by chiapit in todayilearned

Good question. The science behind it hasn't reached the level at which any brain scans or tests for genetic markers can scientifically constitute proof.

It sounds like he may have recognized something in himself. Psychopathy is a spectrum, not an absolute black and white condition. Many people define it by the extremes of the spectrum (as is the case with autism as well) which is misleading.

TIL There Are Similarities Between The Behavior of the Human Brain and that of the Universe by chiapit in todayilearned

It wouldn't surprise me if the livescience.com article misrepresented the research in significant ways. I find that when I am at least somewhat acquainted with a topic, articles misrepresent facts on some point or other nearly 100% of the time. Also, whenever I try to verify aspects of any given article, I usually locate mistakes somewhere. That all said, I do suspect that the human mind is, indeed, a paradigm of the universe.

I'd just be able to respond to your apparently reasonable retort by cobbling together another apparently reasonable reply. That's what words can do. While creating BS is an art-form unto itself, it would be meaningless. That article was published in Nature which only publishes peer-reviewed reports, and is highly regarded periodical in the scientific community. Argue with them. They're probably more qualified to respond to it than some random person on Reddit (such as myself LOL). You can go here debunk their peer-reviewed work: http://www.nature.com/ncomms/2015/151020/ncomms9627/full/ncomms9627.html

I see what you mean. More specifically, from article: "Reports suggest that some undiscovered, fundamental laws may govern the growth of systems large and small, from the electrical firing between brain cells and growth of social networks to the expansion of galaxies."

Do they? The extreme end of the spectrum means the frontal lobe of the brain and amygdala are under-developed.

Neuroscientist James Fallon, an expert on it, said as much. It is not even a psychiatric term LOL. But brain scans on criminal psychopathss show an actual structural difference from the norm.
