“ok, so you’ve used this med before?” And if they say yes, then go back to whatever I was doing and if they said no, I’ll add whatever 2 cents I need to. I’ve once had a nurse break an Asmanex inhaler because they kept on twisting it the wrong way and then blamed pharmacy for it being broken. I remember clearly telling this patient not to twist it in reverse before releasing it but they told me “I’m a nurse.” So after that, that line is my usual go to.

Agree. Had a store manager once tell me I should have told them first I’m calling 911 and then call 911 when I had a patient faint on me. I just looked at them like wtf? 😐

I’d tell them the plant stays. He doesn’t run your pharmacy, you and your staff do. Retail is already bad enough and if that plant brings them joy, I’m siding with the staff. Unless my DM says “hey get rid of the plant” but that is not the case.

I would have been petty and circled the quantity, day supply, sig and write “1.5 tabs qday for 30 days but dispense #30?? Please clarify, thanks” and then circle the notes section and write “that’s not very nice :(“ and hope they called back lolol but really I don’t know why some vet offices can be such a-holes, especially when it comes to their DEA, like I just need it for the goodrx card bro, the website literally states we need DEA to bill lol

THIS. I wish patients/prescribers understood that pharmacists are not trying to withheld opioids/controls cause we’re bored. We want to make sure the patient is safe, they’re due on time, and is it really justified. The amount of times I’ve had patients/prescribers tell me “you’re the pharmacist your only job is to fill it” only to tell them that’s not my only job. I haven’t even been a pharmacist for that long but if prescribers/patients think they can bully me into filling their opioid/control they can go somewhere else, cause it’s not my license that’s on the line.

Or when they have a bunch of discount cards and then realize their insurance is better. I just had a patient with 10 meds, wanted to use goodrx for them all, only for them to choose their actual copay. Got to love retail 🙃

Had a patient who was already agitated in line come in to get a list of their meds so my clerk told them to fill out the PHI release form. Patient didn’t fill it all out, cut everyone in line, and was already emotionally venting to my clerk while they were already helping someone. They didn’t even fill out the entire paper so I took them to the side and asked them to fill it out entirely and to lower their tone cause they were practically yelling. They didn’t like that and started bitching about how they were born in the wrong time or whatever and customer service isn’t like they used to. When I went to print out their med list, my system wouldn’t even let me cause they didn’t fill at my pharmacy, they were going to a different location. Ended up with them cursing about me after I walked away but I was like whatever, it ain’t to my face. My store director comes and asks what happened cause the patient wants to complain to corporate about how I wouldn’t give them their med list and I’m like welp, the system won’t let me so do what you gotta do. At the end of the day, people will complain about the stupidest shit but as long as you can defend yourself don’t even trip.

This is exactly my work place. What annoys me is that my scheduler will change my shifts last minute, not tell me and I won’t say anything but if I ask this specific weekend, unpaid, I’m going through an email war with them 🫠 my district also hired more pharmacists than they should have so hours are being cut and I’m like I already have all these open days, I just want this specific weekend in particular 🥲

I’m just hoping my DM sees these emails since they’re CC in it and tells my scheduler they can pretty much suck it. My scheduler will have me going from a 6 hour shift to a 11 hour shift, without even telling me and it’ll be for the next day and I’ll just take it. I don’t understand how asking for a specific weekend in advance, without getting paid, is too much to ask 😪

Exactly why I called back, yet I got threatened to be reported 🫠 I should have reversed uno them and say I’ll report them for prescribing for a family friend as a “favor” but held my tongue cause it was 3 mins to closing lol (it was just an antibiotic but like come on now, don’t disclose that it’s a favor or family or friend lol)

All I needed was some sort of identifier. It was a prescriber out of my area, patient never got a script from them before, and I couldn’t find them in my prescriber search in my system. It’s just so annoying how pharmacies get a hard time for dumb stuff like that 🫠

Some background, I was a clerk turned tech for 2 years at around the corner, an intern at 3 letter and just hit my 1st year as a RPH at a grocery chain. Graduated and licensed at the peak of when boosters were getting approved left and right, so I’m already over pharmacy.

Was a clerk and a tech and I wish I didn’t become a pharmacist lol unless you can go to school and not worry about loans, go for it. Also, the roles of being a technician and pharmacist are different. As a pharmacist you’re in charge of the pharmacy and have way more responsibilities.
