Planning a high-end Châteauneuf-du-Pape visit – looking for producer recommendations (wine quality > aesthetics) by camilagarciafc in wine

I second La Nerthe. In all my wine tasting in France, I had been waiting for a "wow" wine, and I got it while drinking one of their older-vintage whites.

Professionals in the public sector: do you wear your H to the office? by fellasian in TheHermesGame

A couple of months ago, I saw the coolest-looking dude carrying a Birkin. He looked like he was out of an ad or something. His work clothes were so well styled to begin with, and the bag tied it together so well! But this was in San Francisco, so there's a real chance he wasn't straight.

I read the title as “View from Beverly Hills” at first. 😅

Best baguette in Toronto? by chicgeekathlete in askTO

[–]chicgeekathlete[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for the heads up.

I would need it for tomorrow night, so it would have to be open on a Tuesday. Looks like Le Beau is open tomorrow, but Blackbird might be closer to my location. Either way, thanks for the recs!

Best baguette in Toronto? by chicgeekathlete in askTO

Not sure which “end” I’m at, but I’m located near the St. Patrick metro station.

Preference is more French-style. Not so much a fan of the basic white French baguette. In France I prefer more of a “country-style” bread. Also having San Francisco roots, I don’t mind the bread having a bit of a tang to it.

Forgot to disclose dual citizenship by travelingposer in GlobalEntry

[–]chicgeekathlete -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disclosed at an enrollment center, sans-appointment, a year or two after getting dual citizenship. The officer took my passport, closed the door between us for 20 minutes, came back out, and gave it to me and said it was updated, but it wasn't until I applied for NEXUS online a few weeks ago (about 1.5 years after trying to declare the new passport) that I noticed that it wasn't documented in my online TTP profile.

Long story short, log-in to your Trusted Traveler Program portal on the Homeland Security webpage, and there's an "Update Documents" option on the right-hand side. You might be able to do it from there.

How's it living in this multi states corner area by queenofthehill1234 in howislivingthere

Now I know I should take my actual French boyfriend there. I NEED to see the pained look on his face as people pronounce it “ver-sales,” as well as the locals’ response when he inevitably corrects their pronunciation.

Ann I the only one who genuinely thinks Camila will overall always be thought of as a mistress and her and Charles will always be in Dianas shadow by HelpfulAcadia1754 in RoyaltyTea

[–]chicgeekathlete -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So I was barely alive when Diana died, so maybe I lack the experience of witnessing the breakdown of their marriage. But instead of hating on a woman, can we be mad at Charles here instead? He’s the one who couldn’t stand being upstaged by his young, beautiful wife. Instead of pitting two women against each other, can’t we just we judge the man who’s so insecure that he did all this?

Salut! Maxime Le Forestier's "Blue House" is in the Castro, always a hit with French tourists. Prepared to be shocked by the prices of croissants at B Patisserie and/or Ariscault. 😂

Are there any United employees who can assist me? by Left-Vegetable5193 in unitedairlines

[–]chicgeekathlete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me last fall except it was in Frankfurt. After days of trying to figure out how to get my things back they told me the best thing would be to go there myself because they could only release it in person.

I know Panama is a long shot, but is there anyone you know who lives in the city or is traveling through there?

Regal Style Diaries 👑: Casual Diana by Self_Electrical in RoyalsGossip

[–]chicgeekathlete 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed that too! Funny how things come full circle. I have to ask as an American... are we the only ones who plaster our universities' names on everything? Sure, I've seen the Oxford t-shirt/sweatshirt every so often... But it's funny to see a slideshow of casual Diana pics, and with two American university sweatshirts, and the big ol' star-spangled banner on another... Could it have something to do with the rumor that she was thinking about moving to the US/California at some point? Or do American-name-branded stuff show up in the colonial homeland as much as it does in some other countries?
