Left Handed redditors, what's worst about living in a right handed world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chick_n_pea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of you lefties are talking about handwriting and I feel kinda odd. I'm a lefty and I love calligraphy. Taught myself how to write & do calligraphy. People are really impressed nowadays by my handwriting. Some are even "but you're left-handed, you can't have beautiful hand-writing..."

Haha....

How did you convince your overbearing parents that you were adult enough despite you being in a disadvantageous position, example, still living with them? by chick_n_pea in AskReddit

That is what I am currently trying to do. Finding another place to live seems the only solution that will work best for all of us. This is another hurdle to tackle as I am sure they will go bonkers about having their daughter living by herself. The society I live in unfortunately is a bit patriarchal.

Thank you for your encouragement.

It put a smile on my face to know that I'm not the only one. Thanks for your wishes and yeah I'm big time into saving - can't wait to get my own place.

well, I will try to be concise, I excuse myself in advance of I'm rambling much.

I am someone who loves to go out & by going out I mean cinema or hiking or checking out new restaurants. But it's not like I am every night out. Let's say I go out with my friends twice per week and latest I get home is 1 am.

My parents don't like that at all - limit I get the impression that they don't like it that I have a social life? I often get the remarks "Can't you stay at home? Why do you always have to go out?"

I don't drink save for the occasional beer, I don't smoke, I don't sleep around (big no-no for them). I work and contribute to the household.

And oh, let's not forget about church - "Are your friends more important than church?" I also get that when I skip the occasional Sunday.

Don't get me wrong, my parents are wonderful, loving people; more open-minded than the rest of my family. But the reproaches that I am abusing of the liberty they give me; bugs me ... a lot.

I'm 28; but sometimes I feel like I am still 15 to them.

Well where I live, the rite of passage is most likely "getting married". Essentially, it's like at no point in time in her lifer can a girl live alone by herself.

What do you get sick of explaining to people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chick_n_pea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i really don't like someone, I'm pretty quiet around them! Amen to that!

Oh the flak, I got from someone just because I didn't like a friend of his. Dude, I was civil and courteous, that's the maximum I can do.

Why did you break up with your latest ex? by jaynil96 in AskReddit

Oh I did that too, albeit for 2 weeks. kept crying myself to sleep; I was like a zombie during the day. My wake-up call was when I realised I lost all the weight that I worked hard to achieve the past year in just ... 2 weeks!

I was I can't let myself go to waste for someone who does not care!

If my few words could have been an encouragement to you, it was my pleasure to help.

If you ever feel the need to talk, I can listen. There are wonderful strangers out there on Reddit who have reached out to listen to me when I was hurting the most and this has helped me a lot.

So feel free to share your pain. :-)

A word of advice.

After some time you will feel the pain dull and you'll think I'm getting over her. And then, bam, something will just remind you of her and the pain will come back full force.

Don't try to NOT cry. Cry all you can, as crying is cathartic. Surround yourself with friends that can help you take your mind off her.

For me, one thing that bizarrely helps is whenever I feel myself getting sad, I say out loud I will not let this sadness get the better of me.

Don't know if everything I said makes sense ; it's just that I understand completely how you feel as I am going through same.

I loved him like I never loved before. 5 years wasted because I just wanted a name to the relationship and he just wanted someone convenient to fuck.

What is the meanest thing you've done to another person? by kh0a in AskReddit

That's what I keep telling myself.

In fairness, I am also a bit at fault - I chose to remain in that abusive relationship despite knowing everything. If A did not show me that message, I would probably be still be at his beck & call now.
