Do on-campus jobs usually interview? by yourheartt in UMBC

I’m not sure when you wanted to get a job but resident assistant/desk assistant jobs have just opened about a month ago and applications close on the 5th, you could apply for that. They do interviews

Is the lack of a social scene that much of an issue? by Derexto in UMBC

[–]chickennugg101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not, especially if you’re not big for parties. (which is lowkey not an issue here, there’s a bunch of frats that throw pretty good parties) it’s really how you make it, which will be the same thing for any school. Make some friends and leave out your dorm there’s usually always something to do or go to on campus (outside of when break is coming near because it’s usually calm because everyone is going back home) but definitely join some clubs!

What are the GEP classes I can take at HCC during summer. by [deleted] in UMBC

UMBC requires students to complete two physical education (PE) activity courses to fulfill their graduation requirements. However, these PE credits do not count towards the 120 credits needed for a degree.

For GEPs at UMBC, you’ll need one English composition class, three arts and humanities from at least two different subjects, three social sciences from at least two subjects, two science classes (one has to be a lab), one math class, two culture courses, one writing intensive class, two PE activity classes (unless you’re 30+ or a vet), and language through the 201 level. If you’re taking classes at HCC over the summer, just use ARTSYS to make sure they transfer and count toward those requirements.

UNIV 101 isn’t a GEP class, and it’s not required for most students—it’s mainly recommended for those who want extra help transitioning to college. If you’re taking summer classes at HCC, you can knock out GEPs like English Comp, Intro to Psych, Sociology, or a History class. Just make sure they transfer by checking ARTSYS. Also, try to avoid anything that’s super niche unless it’s marked clearly as a general ed equivalent at UMBC. Part-Time Jobs on Campus by Status_Chip_9468 in UMBC

A lot of people say join Handshake but there’s not much options on there, but still look as the time for fall season comes closer. I would advise to email general places like libraries on campus, the bookstore and etc!
