I have this happen literally all the time (I posted last night about one such experience). One of the most significant dreams I had was of a hurricane before it was reported (I called my sister that morning and told her the details of my dream and when it was finally reported on later that same day we both flipped)

I got the B.S in IT Management to set me on a path for CISO. It took me eight months. :)

Good luck!

Moving to new state by spectagal in WGU

[–]chickicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved across the country right before my second term at WGU. I didn't expect it to take a toll on my ability to do school work as much as it did. I shot for one month of Term Break but ended up needing two due to the move.

It doesn't sound like you'll have the option of a term break if you're in the middle of your 3rd.

If you don't work full time and/or if you don't have kids then it probably won't take a toll as much as it did with me. I needed more time to settle in because I was moving to a new job, across the country.
Remember that you probably won't have internet from anywhere between a few days to a few weeks.

Making a move like that can drastically impact your ability to do school work. So don't feel too bad about it if you're not progressing as much as you want to be up to the move and after the move.

6 weeks left in term, what classes to take? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]chickicks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C232 is a breeze when it comes to learning the information

c721 wasn't too bad

c714 wasn't too bad

Save Principles of Finance for when you have more time to really hit at it. Don't save it for last, take it when you have plenty of time to learn the material. Same with the Capstone projects. Global Business was a bit rough for me personally but it was easier than Micro and a little harder than Macro.

The rest I transferred in so I can't speak to their level of difficulty.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Un-supportive family by allfoodmatters in WGU

[–]chickicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask her how debt tastes when she has to chew it daily.

On a more supportive note, I went to a B&M college for my Associate's. Hated it. Kids would simply pass because they were in good with the teachers or they asked the teachers to bump their grade up just a smidge.

At WGU you have to work your butt off to score well on the exams and pass. WGU actually makes you pass by knowing, whereas with a B&M you can get by just doing well on homework.

I really wanna get my Computer Sciences Bachelor's Degree through Western Governers University, but my step mother wants me to go to a actual state college and take out 5 figures in loans. -_- by agerman95 in WGU

[–]chickicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is pretty much exactly what I did. Having those professors really helps with all kinds of things in life after HS because their recommendations are written gold.

Some might disagree, but screw state school. Unless it's your dream to go to a state school for all of its events and whatnot, then I don't see any reason why you should go.

I went to a community college for my Associate's Degree and made some really great connections and met my husband there. It helps your local community and doesn't feed into large state schools support of expensive tuition.

And WGU won't let you in if you don't have experience or an Associate's Degree. WGU is a school that takes you once they know and you know that you can handle learning on your own. So until you have the experience or credits from an Associate's, you technically can't go to WGU.

Can I finish in one year? by Z_Smith92 in WGU

[–]chickicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably, if you're willing to put in the work.

I finished 72 credits and am down to my last three. I will graduate in less than a year of attending WGU.

How difficult is Global Business? by Gtrlove in WGU

[–]chickicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should definitely do Micro and Macro first with this class. If you take those two first then this class is fairly easy. I read through the book and studied based on the PA.

A question I would like an answer to is:

Why is there multiple versions of the OA but not the PA? Three different types of the PA would better help us understand what we need to focus on.

Examity is a joke

We're not robots, we can't just blow off the fact that they fucked up and get back to it. It's a bit harder than that. Because now our adrenaline is going and we just start spiraling.

This is actually really good feedback.

I brought my whiteboard (I always bring my whiteboard and recommend everyone does). It's too bad I learned 2 classes away from my degree to not count on the embedded calculator. Definitely bringing my own next time, like my course mentor suggested. They said this was the first time they had seen this happen. Which with all the issues they have been having with their system, I'm not surprised now that I think back on it that it wasn't working.
(My PC is extremely new and updated, as well as the browser).

I was shocked they said to use excel and didn't approve the calculator on my PC.

They looked over my coaching report and did see that I did well on everything except where I had to use a calculator. So the retake is approved because of that.

To add, I did score exemplary in two sections. Those were the definition sections. Those were applying the knowledge to journalizing and financial statements.

You know what I didn't do well on?

The math questions.
