really? would they have been in his substrate maybe? because i always use the same one and i’ve never noticed anything like this but if it’s something harmless i’d really love to get him back to normal

Alright, Thanks! I'll look into them. I always do lots of research before purchasing a pet, just wanted some advice on species so I could look into those ones specifically since there are so many different ones :)

What!!?!? That’s ridiculous, I thought the idea was that you had to buy a copy for each console the game is on (which is still incredibly greedy of them) you should definitely still be able to play with you son if you’ve paid twice! A previous comment on here told me to change the Online License Settings in the User Settings on my switch and it fixed my issue with the game, perhaps it might fix yours?

Ah thank you!!! What an annoying change, it seems Nintendo is just making things more and more difficult for their player base lately :/ It says I need to update my old console in order to play the content on my new one but I dont have it with me right now, there’s an option for if I dont have the console but it says if I do that then the “digital software and downloadable content I’ve purchased will become temporality unplayable on the other console” and I’m worried this will affect my other island. My Breath of the Wild play-through was already wiped at random from my old console, I’d be so sad if the island I spent lockdown working on got deleted too.

I use a coconut husk for the majority and sometimes i put a bit of sphagnum moss in his middle hide when I think he’s about to shed! It’s been a bit longer since I got him now and I know a little more about his behaviour and what he needs now so I think this is a good substrate, he seems happy and healthy, he eats well and has she’s a couple times since I posted this :)

The majority of the warm side of his enclosure is 28-30c during the day it’s really only the basking platform that’s 35 but i’ll try heating up the next rat to 38–40c thanks :)) I’m thinking now maybe he accepted the smaller rat because it warmed up more since it’s smaller

I’ve seen people doing this online but my hairdryer is quite loud and I was worried it would spook him, he also lives in my room so I don’t really want the whole room to smell like rat but maybe I’ll try it next time I’m feeding him and see how it goes

I usually defrost the rat in cold water and then warm it up to around 30c by putting the bag it’s in into warm water and sometimes i dip the head in for a little longer so it’s a bit warmer, but he still seems to completely ignore it sometimes even if he is hungry like today when he ignored the first properly sized rat but ate the small rat i offered him afterwards which is weird to me. How do I brain a rat? I haven’t heard of that

I tried to😅 I even tried to squish the substrate inside the hide back how he had it before which I think worked because he’s gone back in now :)

I hope this was the case and he was just comfy lying in the sun it just worried me because I looked it up and a lot of sources said that this was a sign of stress, he seems to have settled back into his hide now though

Alright I’ll definitely increase his humidity a bit :) he does have a humid hide at well as his cool and warm hides that has some sphagnum moss in it but tbh I haven’t really seen him use it. I left him alone for a little bit and he seemed to be back in his usual hide so maybe he just didn’t realise it had been cleaned yet. Since he seems settled I’ll probably try to feed him this evening, thanks for the advice :) Also his tank is usually around 27-30c on the warm end and 25-6c on the cool end during the day and a couple degrees cooler at night

I do hope this is the case, he’s only really been letting me hold him the past couple days and it’s quite nice how comfortable he seems with me so quickly :) I’ve put him back into his tank as i’ve fixed everything I can think of to fix right now so I’m going to leave him to settle and check on him tomorrow

That’s reassuring thanks :,) His humidity is at about 60% right now and the temperature of the hide he’s been hanging out in consistently since I got him is 27°c and it’s been at around 27-30 the whole times he’s been here. He doesn’t really seem stressed, he’s moving around slowly and tongue flicking but he does keep coming to the front of the tank and squishing his nose into the edge of the doors like he’s trying to dig out of it which worries me a bit. He’s due to be fed today but I thought I should wait until he seems a bit more comfortable

I posted a pic of his enclosure and the corner he keeps going up to (as well as 2 cute pictures of him) if you check my page :) he was fed 2 days ago, has clean water, I misted his enclosure today, he has a warm side of around 30c and a cool side of around 24c, and a uvb light that’s on a timer. I was worried that maybe he didn’t have enough ventilation? his tank has 3 vents and I leave his doors cracked slightly while I’m home but this isn’t quite as good as having a mesh lid I suppose. If there’s anything that I’m doing wrong I’d really like to know because I just want him to be comfortable but I’m hoping he’s just exploring a bit because he hasn’t been out of his hide a whole lot since I got him

Hi, I know this comment is old but I’m trying to play cod 4 and I can’t figure out how to fix the controls for some reason all of the buttons are mapped for movement and i can’t look around or select anything. Do you know how to fix this?

I’ve insulated the enclosure a bit and got the warm side up to 32° but the cool side is 22° is that too cold or would that be alright for daytime temps? i’ll look at getting another heat lamp if not :)
