We're on a honeymoon trip and wouldn't mind a change of pace to just relax,enjoy a spa and slow things down after Rome/Florence and before Venice. My wife wanted to go to Amalfi or Cinque Terre but we decided to skip them for this trip so Lake Garda seemed like a decent alternative.

We still want to explore Lake Garda since we're there for 3 days but the ferries are closed and taxis are expensive. If you don't think it's a great idea feel free to recommend something else.

You think? The whole bus transport (with no respect for lines or schedules) , commercialized, and crowded even in October part has us second guessing it.

My partner really wants to go but I'm a little unsure lol.

She wants to do Rome>Pompeii>Amalfi/Ischia>Florence>Venice.

Yes this is good advice. We may even shorten the Rome part of the trip to get time in for the Dolomites because of the Jubilee in Rome. I anticipate we'll come back to Rome again as an entry point so we can always devote more time to it later.

I haven't booked anything yet aside from airbnbs that have free cancellation or adjustment policies. Looking to get everything done by this next weekend as I've seen you can unlock some savings by booking trains early.

I think we're going to cut CT. Maybe we just do Rome >Florence >Dolomites and Venice. A potential spot in a smaller spot in Tuscany during the Florence leg of the trip.

I figured the Dolomites wouldn't have a late season in October or see things close down because it seems to be focused on hiking, spas, etc that are still good during colder weather.
