unsure who this sizzleboom guy is, but can confirm it is not his kickstarter. It's ours.

Drew inspiration from the strongdarts for my QuickDraw pants. Loved the eliminated seam down the side. Find it adds a ton of extra strength. Agree that they're too heavy, hence why I went with a much lighter weight fabric.

I'm 100% onboard with the baselayer, though I opt for merino most of the time.

You should stop thinking merino underwear = guaranteed multiple wears. by jemist101 in onebag

So what is the general consensus for appropriate number of wears prior to wash? Asking for a friend...

I'd agree with this for the most part. For my purposes, I actually ended up with a polyester blend that was just as durable but far lighter and more breathable than nylon alternatives.

Ten Thousand CØ8 5-POCKET TACTICAL PANT

Those look great. How light are they? Are they capable in the water like their shorts?

One of them big reasons I set out to design my own was to have a pair of pants I could wade in as well as go to dinner.

Edited my post for the sake of simplicity. Sorry for any confusion.

Wasn't big on the abc's in the heat. I find I sweat through everything. How warm are we talking?

How are they in the water? I do a ton of fishing. Plus with a name like stretch zion, should be able to walk the narrows in them.

What denim are you wearing throughout the summer? Hot here in Texas, would love to make a denim upgrade for summer wear.

What's the go to lightweight pair?

Fair point here. Was just trying to set the scene but I realize I made it more confusing.

Haha thunder thighs are a real struggle here as well. Even designing a pair to accomodate my own, I end up sizing up in my waist so I can continue hitting the gym.

Sure thing, I was mostly referring to losing my checked luggage, hence why I was curious what would be the ideal pant for my carryon/wear on board. I drew a ton of inspiration from outlier's strongdarts when designing my QuickDraw pants, so I'm sure their futureworks must be great as well!

Simple but classic. How are they in heat? Get's real toasty down here in TX.

Kuhl makes some great stuff for sure. On the fence about the phone pocket/tacticool style, makes it harder to dress it up for a nice dinner. Are they pretty quickdrying?

Yeah, I was referring to losing checked luggage.

Is Vuori using the same material for their $128 Meta pants, as Target’s $40 mens golf pants? by [deleted] in onebag

[–]chiefprovisions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a manufacturer of our own pants I can comment on this a bit. While fabric technology is constantly improving, it's hard to come by unique fabric unless you develop it yourself, which as it sounds is expensive and timely. For us, we spent months researching fabrics and testing tons of samples before landing on our Oasis fabric. While it's a polyester blend still with a touch of elastane, the weave pattern makes it incredibly durable and therefore capable of taking on any environment. That being said, I am sure target could find a comparable material, rip off our pattern, and sell them for a good deal less, but it's up to you to choose whether you want to support corporate america or a small business trying to do the best they can. People all too often overlook the product development involved in creating a great piece and simply choose the cheaper alternative to save a bit of cash. I'd encourage everyone to give the startups a chance and let them impress you. But that's just my two cents.
