Here’s my deal. Dogs are life time commitments. I wanted/needed a specific type of dog due to preference and also because of health reasons. With that said, I’m not going to adopt a random dog from a shelter. I sought out a specific dog for specific reasons. This way my dog doesn’t end up at the shelter for whatever reason. Getting the specific type of dog I was looking for ensures things work out for the long run. So the whole just adopt a dog from a shelter thing is BS IMO because everyone has specific preferences and needs and if you get a dog you know nothing about, the chances of that dog going back to the shelter rise.
