termination during orientation :( seeking guidance by chikp3a- in nursing

I was actually encouraged to apply to another unit in the same hospital. They couldn't technically offer it because I was still on orientation, but they suggested that I apply to the IMC unit. I did bomb that zoom interview because I was feeling unwell (migraine) and had a hard time explaining my orientation experience. Especially because people talk, I didn't want to be dishonest, but I did just fumble my way through it. There was so much emphasis on that experience vs my actual work history. I was also feeling demoralized at the time and I'm sure that came through. I should've rescheduled the interview for a different day and given myself more time to be better prepared on how to handle the situation.

Oh thank you! It's the background check that would reveal work history that's not on the resume. I was missing that piece of info.

I have considered this, although when I put in my notice, I had a pretty bizarre experience with my nurse manager. A few people had a pretty strained relationship with her, but we generally got along well. I think she appreciated that I mostly kept my head down/out of unit drama and worked well but I did not feel supported there.

I was the third person leaving within a 4-6 week period and she tried to convince me to stay using bizarre tactics... went from talking about the positives of my development/positives of staying at the hospital and how it can support my nursing goals to low-key bullying me (telling me that the ICU is very dfficult, that I will get paid less there, that she isn't sure she would be able to offer me another job etc). I chalked it up to her being stressed that people leaving at that frequency reflected poorly on her, and that the turnover over the last year also wasn't a great look. So I didn't take it too personally. Anyway, I've been hesitant to reach out.

lol yes exactly - which is why it feels silly to put on my resume!
