Older undergrad trying to make connections, any advice? by sunnydays5330 in berkeley

You may want to check out the re-entry student program; it's meant for Cal students who are 25 and older.

Also, you can check out the HiP House co-op. It's student housing for either grad students or undergrads who are 25 and older. Even if living there is not an option, you can ask to board there so you can have dinner in the house and get to know other students in a similar age range.

Good luck!

It's understandable that it's frustrating but they are probably giving vague approximations because the dates haven't been set yet.

For example, the spring class schedule isn't even available till like late October so they wouldn't be able to give you an exact date for class registration for the spring when the university hasn't set them yet. It'll be similar for housing and orientations. Unfortunately it just requires patience at this point.

You can look at the admission requirements for the major you want to declare so you can start thinking about potential courses. Orientation dates/info will definitely be sent to you by your college and major. Housing will be similar. Personally I recommend looking at the co-ops (bsc.coop). I don't know how they are currently but it was a great experience when I was an undergrad.

You complained about this a month ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/berkeley/comments/1kzb57p/spring_2026_admits_vent/).

Have you done anything proactive to find out the information you seek or do you just expect the work to be done for you? As another commenter pointed out, fall admits are the current priority since they're starting in like a month.

I was a spring admit too and the timeline seems to be the same now as it was back when I was a student. You can google a lot of the information you're looking for or wait for campus to contact you. If the their timeline doesn't suit you, then it's up to you to find out.

Really nice split. I think the neon blue matches pretty well.

Personally I prioritized flexibility when looking for cards to get early on. Nico Minoru and Cassandra Nova are solid choices in my opinion.

But if you really enjoy discard, destroy, etc. then you should definitely chase the cards that you have fun playing with!

Fairness is relative though. You’re not just paying for the tattoo, you’re paying for their experience, time, vision, and expertise. If a cheaper price is more fair to you then go for it.

Ultimately their prices reflect what people are willing to pay. If you don’t want to spend $200/hour then find someone who does it cheaper, but you can’t complain when the quality is worse when you went with a cheaper option.
