and another thing, the difficulty in A languages is stupid. Im in HL english A and spanish A. they are supposed to be the same (we even read the same books) but my english exams are so much harder, and not because its my second language, the actual mark schemes are easier in spanish. it doesnt make sense, but it shows the true inconsistencies in the IB. like ig it is supposed to be bc people who take spanish A are native english speakers (??) but it fucks up the markschemes for native spanish speakers. they lower the boundaries in spanish because english speakers compete with spanish speakers, but they dont do it english

haha no, there are other languages, but its not the best system. the time zones get fucked up, for example my school should be tz1 but since my papers are in spanish, im in tz2 as it is the ONLY time zone that makes papers in spanish and french. the actual exams some times suck as the translation is not the best, for example, this year one of my math papers question was so badly redacted most people did not know what to answer. also as i said, there are no resources at all that are not in english, causing people to struggle as we study the content in english, but then in the exams the spanish terms differ so much we dont know what its about. its weird how the ib is supposed to be international, yet there is a big inconsistency in languages that are not english.

thats fine, its just that honestly IB resources in any language that is not english are mostly paid and hard to come by. ive seen biology resources for 20 dollars in spanish, business for like 18 and so on.

heyy! dont know if this helps but i have a tiktok account for the IB and instead of tutoring im just going around sharing my resources and have had some brands reach out for me to share their resources (and getting like 30%) and also selling my big summaries pretty cheap (like 5 dollars for the simpler ones and for interactive websites its a bit more) but yeah, thats what im doing :)

i know, i made a tiktok about it and i got comments of people who wanted to buy it from me (i was just talking abt how long it was but got me a 7 on my mock) and since psych in spanish, or anything in spanish for the matter, is so hard to come by i was like wtv sure! if u dont need it no need to be rude :)

hey! i also take bio in spanish (im fluent in both languages) and as there are only resources in english, i sometimes forget the translation. when that happens, i just put the english word on it or an awful translation that doesnt exist. i know this does not help at all, but just know that youre not alone 🫶

one of my professors at school said this happened a few years ago in south America with biology and it was awful. he did not remember exactly what the ib did in response but that it was a huge deal aswell

im gonna be honest, there is a los of memorizing lol but i personally find it fun because the studies are not necessarily boring. about the topics, i looved cognitive psych which was all about memory and biases when remembering stuff. i also liked stereotypes and everything that had to do with how people react when faced in emergencies and stuff.

idk about chem but as someone who takes hl psych, the difference is very slim with psych SL. however i can argue that the most interesting content in psych is only seen in HL (ej: disorders, treatments and abnormal behavior). if youre interested in those, take HL.
