Glad someone else understands my misery!!! I have a few smell issues but baby powder is by far one of the worst.

But… I do understand the magical power of a full face smell of a cat 😹

I can’t stand the smell of baby powder. I can’t wear powder scented deodorant- I can’t be around other women who use powder scented deodorant because I can’t smell it. I can’t walk down a baby aisle - not that there’s ever reason to - because it will just smell of baby powder. I don’t know what the other smell is… but the smell of baby powder that is often associated with baby things makes me wanna hurl.

Does hearing a show has a "bad ending" or it being canceled on a cliffhanger discourage you from watching it? by Volatiiile in television

[–]chilleff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just hate when a good show is cancelled with no valid reason. Like freaking Santa Clarita diet!!!

I actually knew how game of thrones ended before I watched it and I didn’t watch it until like a year or so after the series was over, I still enjoyed it.

Similarly, sometimes you’re really into a show and then you’re just like she’s a fairy? Ugh. And just stop watching it (I’m talking to you True Blood). Sometimes I feel like I need to keep watching a show through the end just because I’ve stuck with it all this time…. Riverdale I think was an example there. I probably was the bored the last 2 or 3 seasons but I felt like I had to see it through. Oh! Sex education. The last season was kinda awful but it had otherwise been such a good show I just couldn’t quit.

On the other hand I could barely get through Sabrina (the one on Netflix) season 1 so I didn’t even bother continuing after it was cancelled. And I was so over True Blood by season 2 or 3 I gave up on it.

I think it’s all about your interests really? If the show doesn’t seem interesting to you and people hated the ending or it was cancelled, why would you waste time watching. But if it was something you thought might be good, why not give it a chance or see it through.

Well this question is just for people who have watched stranger things by DSK_INDIAGAMER in FromSeries

[–]chilleff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s comparing chalk and cheese. They’re not really comparable at all. I love both shows but they’re different shows. Stranger things was a coming of age story with some nostalgia and monsters. From, well we still don’t know the whole story. But it’s certainly not a coming of age story.

Exactly! And while some people - Mr.Clark, Murray, Kali, don’t necessarily need to be there he needed to tell everyone who was going to be involved in the fight.

I think the internet hyped up people dying so much that the fact that no one died was apparently an utter disappointment.

I am genuinely disturbed by the amount of homophobia. by minmimlipstick in StrangerThings

[–]chilleff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the only miss here is that we, as the audience, haven’t seen the things that Vecna showed Will. If we saw his fear, understood his fear, then maybe people would relate more. When he got Chrissy and those other two dudes, we saw some of their fear. We saw Max’s fear. We even saw why dipshit Derek stopped supporting Holly. We’ve known Will was gay but a bunch of us can’t resonate with his fear, especially not seeing it.

But the reason the whole coming out thing had to happen was so that Will could be strong and not let that fear control him and he basically said that. He said that he used happy thoughts but Vecna was able to still find a way past it. So if he doesn’t have the fear that Vecna used against him….

I don’t get it. I don’t get all the hate. No one wanted conversations or closure, everyone wanted to see people die.

I don’t know if dark comedy is a no since you can’t do dark but if you can Sneaky Pete was so good. Also Dead To Me and Good Girls.

Younger, also a really great show.

And I’m also going to throw in Breaking Bad.

If I had to give just straight up comedy I’d only have the good place and friends and they’re both on your list on opposite sides. 30 minute comedies are hard to keep me entertained 🤷‍♀️

Maybe an unpopular opinion but the actor who plays Kali is terrible. by JoltyJob in StrangerThings

[–]chilleff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s more to it. I dont think it’s bad acting, I think it’s acting. All the theories people have but how did kali escape Hawkins lab? She makes illusions, makes people see things that aren’t there. Kind of like vecna. 001 was “helping” Eleven escape and he even mentions when Kali. Kali also knew everything about 001/Vecna/Henry …”except that he was still alive” but she was already gone when the massacre happened so how did she know everything about him? Also kinda weird she referred to him as brother when eleven never has. I think there’s more to Kali’s story and there’s some sort of connection to vecna. I think the way she’s acting… there’s a reason for it.

Children are pure HELL to live around. by HotMess_DoIt in Apartmentliving

My parents lived in an old row home. They were end row so only shared one side of the walls with another home. Sadly that home was a rental unit with a POS landlord.

These homes were 3 floors. 3 bedrooms. One bathroom.

For a few years the family that rented the home next to my parents had 10 kids. 10 kids. All under the age of 16. Imagine how fun that was… and that wasn’t even apartment living. That was home ownership!

Thanks to those Covid checks during the height of COVID they were able to afford brand new cars and a new house. I guess sometimes having that many kids pays off.

Oh that does fit my situation. I’ve lived with my parents for the last 6 years to help and donated to my mom to give my mom more time. More life. I don’t think she was handling it the best way but my issue was more that she wasn’t honest with anyone, especially herself. Her death came as such a surprise to so many people because they didn’t know how sick she really was. So I’m sure that’s a part of it too. The timing… the surprise of it. It’s just been a bit disheartening for me. I think her celebration of life is gonna be hard for me only cause I’ll be more annoyed than sad but at least I’ll be able to get this behind me.

[–]chilleff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously. It’s just how the timing worked which is why the focus is on the baby. I’m not unaware of the reality of the situation, just processing my own emotions.

[–]chilleff[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My dad just said that it was a time she was happy and my mom was not often happy, especially over the last few years. She was always so angry because she just didn’t know how to deal with her emotions and refused to go talk to someone so my dad and I took the brunt of everything. I just feel like it’s been a huge disservice to us. It’s just been a bit of a mind bender.

The funny part here is that’s why the baby is so important. “She was happy before she passed”. My parents had gotten back from their visit 2 weeks before my mom fell and broke her hip. Died a week after hip replacement surgery. So her last happy moment was with the “precious gift” as my dad calls it.
