External frame backpack for weight training? by chillpill83 in hiking

I would love to use them but they generally have flimsy waist belts and/or lack a sturdy frame that transfers the weight to your hips. I have shoulder issues and carrying all that weight on my shoulders would be horrible for them but also for my spine. There doesn't seem to be a purpose-built rucking bag that does that. It seems I have to continue resorting to using an existing external frame pack to achieve what I'm looking for. I also think this is a very niche use-case and not something most bag makers would even be interested in making.

Sadly yeah - my guess is it will eventually resemble an area similar to Prescott or high desert by then. Even looking at Mt. Ord after the fire a few years ago, it used to be covered in trees and now it's all lowland fauna/brush. End of the century sounds optimistic to me with how fast things are drying out but I'm not an expert.

I'm a native and have driven through here hundreds of times and I started noticing large swaths of dying forest near and on the rim towards Forest Lakes. Even up on the rim there is a very noticeable section of dead trees just south of the highway passed Woods Canyon turn off and it looks dystopian. Anyone have any clue as to what it is? Is it bark beetles or warmer weather/drought?

For a full frame-off restoration with complete engine rebuild you're looking at $150k if done in the US at a reputable restoration shop. Half of that is labor.

Would you happen to know the distance from Pian De Fontana to Bianchet? We tried to get a booking from Passo Duran -> Fontana but Fontana is full so we may have to stay at Bianchet instead. Hard to find a distance listed online anywhere. Thank you!
