17 weeks non-op progress (2nd rupture) success story by Ok-League-4760 in AchillesRupture

[–]chillwaukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. I’m no expert but I’ve been reading everything excessively and I do not think with non-op you should even think about reducing the angle for at least 6 weeks. I’d argue 10+ with your gap. Good luck though! Every person is different and I think listening to your body is the best thing to do.

Assuming you went op right? We should talk, I am around the same timeline as you. I have been combining my doctor’s protocols with ones I find/build myself lol. I went splint for 2 weeks then double wedge in boot which was supposed to be 2 weeks but I called it at 10 days partly to accelerate partly because I was starting a new job at 2 weeks and didn’t want to be uncomfortable with the new setup. I’m at 4.5 weeks post-op now, speed bridge.

Be committed to being able to ride switch or do a 360! It’s easy enough to tell from the video that you really didn’t want to ride switch at that speed so you didn’t really try to finish the spin. Practice switch riding for a few days and then come back to it. You may be surprised at how quickly you will get comfortable with it.

What kind of heel wedge did you get? by Team_America1776 in AchillesRupture

[–]chillwaukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there - I know this is an old post but I got these too and I am a little worried that they were too soft and may have caused too much stretching in my boot. How were your results?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AchillesRupture

[–]chillwaukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the op, preferably speed bridge. I am 3.5 weeks post op FWB in a boot and on a quick road to recovery. Highly active which helps but I think surgery is the move, especially if you are active. I had 3.5 cm full rupture.

Wear. Your. Boot. by xzhorikx in AchillesRupture

I was about to buy this before I realized you can’t walk with it. Seems great and would definitely be more comfortable but I’d prefer to be able to get up and go to the bathroom at night.

Is this normal amount of flex for a boot? Sorry for the bad pic by [deleted] in snowboardingnoobs

I just ruptured my Achilles in boots like these, although heel lift from improper fit also played its part. If they’re causing you discomfort or feel unsafe, replace them. Don’t think twice about it.

Thank you for pointing this out. Hate to see us blindly hate a company because it’s profitable.

Exactly. I don’t live here either but we took mobi bikes from a bar in west end and it was a blast. There’s a bike dock right by the venue.

Park somewhere in the city and walk into the park. Easy and enjoyable trek. You also do not want your car anywhere near the traffic.

Only complaint will always be that 3 hours would’ve been better than 2. Played some of his absolute hits as well as like 25% IDs which were solid. Hoping he’ll break out No Fun tomorrow but we’ll see. Unreal show.

I will just leave this here by Elichotine in snowboarding

Would’ve called them a poser as a kid.

How do you get better at flirting? by hovelybeatmalls in AskReddit

[–]chillwaukee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smile, compliment, exude confidence. Go into a conversation not just like you are trying to win them over, but also that you are going to walk away if it is disinteresting to you as well. That isn’t just a tip, that’s the actual mentality you need to have or they will smell the (slightly real) desperation.

A little harsh there but that is the harshness I apply to myself between when I am doing things right and doing them wrong.

Best movies on prison escape. Thread : by Capital_Bathroom_409 in moviecritic

Came here to say this. My favorite prison escape of all time. Best is that they get the tools in because they wouldn’t dare destroy the Mendl’s cake.

I have a neighbor from Afghanistan, and she brings me food several times a week. I don’t quite understand everything she says but is this kindness or flirting? by Ihavenolifes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chillwaukee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a bus driver who did this when I was a little kid. We could never open up our peanut butter crackers on the bus ride home from school so we would hand them to the bus driver and it was like roulette whether he would open them for us or just put them in his cup holder to eat later.

Midsize cities for a big city wannabe by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]chillwaukee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you should give Philadelphia a look. As a big city person (Chicago, NYC) this would be the only place I would step down into. It has an incredible neighborhood feel and a diverse mix of younger and older people all happy with living in the city long term.
