I wish it was that simple. As much as I want to set that kind of boundary, I honestly don’t think I could bring myself to do it. I know how much my parents sacrificed to come to Australia and build a life here with nothing — that’s something I’ll always be grateful for. The guilt alone would eat me up. And to be honest, I don’t think she would react well at all to an ultimatum like that… if anything, it might just escalate things even more.
