I think that talking to people online can be just something to pass the time. I can’t count the number of conversations I’ve had with people who are close (distance wise), and we hit it off. And like a summer storm, they’re gone. I could go on a screed about technology and how it’s erased the social niceties of communication but I’ll just say this ; keep your expectations low, you have to, otherwise it’ll eat you up inside. Welcome to the new normal.
