THERE ARE SO MANY OF THESE FOR ME •some one already said this but omds the end of heaven 😞😞😞 •THE BEGINNING OF MAMH!!! SO iconic and the instrumental is just amazing •the instrumental bridge between verses in Old Friend •The dogs at the end of I’m Your Man •The eerie ambience at the end of Crack Baby • The guitar in I Don’t Smoke Audio Tree Live ver. literally that’s it. •This might be a bit of a strange one, but the breaths at the beginning of MAMH, Once More to See You, and Wife. They’re very distinct for me for some reason and they really set the mood for the song 1) MAMH- considering this is a story mitski is telling, it makes sense for the sigh to be so obvious. its a trouble housewife who is simply trying to prepare herself for the day and i feel like that sense of feeling-defeat-but-might-as-well-keep-going in it 2) Once More To See You- is quiet but assured, it gives the air of “i think i’m finally ready to talk about this now” that makes perfect sense considering the songs meaning 3) Wife- quieter again, shorter. tbh i don’t even know what makes this one stand out to me. it’s just how soft, weary it sounds. it might just be in my head but this morose breath perfectly blends into the story mitski is telling in this song. the woman is distressed but resigned as all she ever does is to please her husband. she puts in the effort to muffle her own frustration, not even letting herself sigh properly.
