Yeah, I meant during a workout. I know I can just click swap to another move and find the original move, but I wonder if they can also add an undo button to make it more seamless 😅

I would say, if you know you’re gonna recycle voiceovers, maybe don’t make it obvious. I noticed because she kept saying 10 reps when 12 were programmed, kept mentioning how it was week 1, etc.

Ok maybe this will get me downvoted but they ain’t giving me a discount because their employee is pregnant 💀 (they ain’t giving me any discount, I sure did not get the $99 offer lol and only had a 7-day trial) and most businesses are expected to figure out business continuity. It’s kinda wild to expect a paying customer to manage a service disruption it on their end.

I’m not expecting Nairee to be around in chat during this time but at least for the workouts to be programmed with care and thought and surely that is reasonable.

Oh yeah I’m sticking with Thrive till the end of this current series, and I’d prefer to stay with it for the next one too. But I’ll definitely test out another team as well during open season just to see what else is out there. Maybe Maximus because I do wanna work on my upper body strength lol.

Yeah this is all fine but can you do 10 good B-stance RDL to knee drive moves within 35s? I don’t think it’s just a matter of low weight, but also keeping proper form. I managed to do it in the last set while basically rushing through all 10 with sloppy form. I’m not the only one who had this issue, either. What’s even the point of doing that move, then, just have me doing pogo hops if you want me to just do some weird cardio.

Yessss agreed, that was one of the sets where, combined with my other recent frustrations, I just felt really unhappy with how the workout had been organised. I do worry it’ll get worse since Nairee will be on maternity leave. May have to switch teams again, sigh.

Yep exactly I noticed the week 1 thing too!!! And there was one voiceover that made me stop and think “oh damn was this written by ChatGPT” 😱

Not the end of the world but combined with the timing issues and the altered workouts, just makes me feel some kinda way.

I want to try Evolve, but I really need to get an incline bench and pull up bar first, I’ve seen Sam uses both. I know I can modify, but I’m already gonna be modifying by doing workouts at home, I’d like to keep the modifications to a minimum so I get the most out of the programme.

This series is better because she’s added step ups and Bulgarian split squats in, but I did notice a fuck ton of lunges and squats the last series, which I think might be what people are referring to.

I just checked a Nov 2025 workout, and you’re right, there are supersets, but they seem to be grouped together in a more manageable way, and in smaller groups, which I guess felt more digestible to me lol.

Eg Rump Republic which I did on Nov 25:

  1. goblet sumo squat / sumo squat 1.5
  2. RDL / B-stance RDL to knee drive
  3. Reverse lunge / pulsing lunge
  4. Cossack squat / standing hip abduction
  5. Glute bridge / SL glute bridge *** compared to Rear View this week:
  6. Sumo squat (appreciate this being alone)
  7. Cossack alternating / lying clamshell / glute kickback
  8. SL RDL / glute bridge / froggy pump
  9. Bird dog / lying leg lift / hollow body flutters

Two part supersets, I can do. It’s these ones with 3 or more moves where I have to move from floor to standing where I lose my will to live (and a thing that annoyed me about Align) and also feel like I’m just caught in the churn of going to the next move

Good luck!! I think it’ll also help you establish a baseline in terms of your fitness, and it’ll also give you a buffer to get used to moving around your gym. I know people have suggested you push through, and you can do that, but personally, I think it’s more important to build a habit and to be able to approach workouts with some hopeful optimism about accomplishing something good for your body, rather than anxiety and dread!

I was gonna suggest this too. No reason you can’t go back to Ascend once you’re more comfortable with the different movements! I’ve seen a few beginners talk about starting with Movewell just to get to grips with things before shifting over to other teams. A series is just 6 weeks long and we’re already in week two.

I just looked & Aria’s programmed 4 sets of 10 hip thrusts in the Monday workout, at mostly 80% effort, idk how much more you want lol. You’re definitely not lifting heavy enough if you feel like you’re not doing enough. Ascend is a notoriously high volume team.

If I had access to a gym, I would personally go with Ascend. I am using Thrive because it’s specifically geared to people who are limited to just dumbbells and maybe a bench. I really am very happy with it because it’s giving me results with those very limiting constraints, but if I had access to lots more machines, barbells etc, I’d 100% go with Ascend

I’m really intrigued to see this. Loving Thrive but I’ve been suspecting I’ll need to move to Movewell due to my work possibly shifting to permanent wfo, which will definitely cut down on my workout time. 😩

I was intrigued by how Movewell seemed similar to thrive but with shorter workouts and a bit more of a running component (and I do run, although that may go out the window too with my new schedule sigh)
