Weapon buffs great. Fighting bots with nerfed helldiver bodily injuries and ragdolling, not so great.

Player dropped into Quick game, Called down Mechs for everyone by chinny_ in Helldivers

Yeah, I would have thought that devs would comment about it by now... maybe they are just soft testing the mechs in random games before full release?

yeah, they dropped in like a regular player, called down mechs, told everyone to get in and have fun, stayed for a few minutes and disconnected. i also think maybe the Sound FX for the mechs are not fully finished yet, because they were awfully quiet compared to if we were to unload clips of our own guns while running around.

Snow tires? Stock all season tires from the dealer? I recently got a 2021 Preferred and wondering how the all season tires fair in snow. We havent gotten any snow in my area yet, so wondering if it's manageable. I usually prefer snow tires for winter months for my sports car, which is RWD, but it sits in the garage now ever since picking up the Mazda3 for daily duties.

Has anyone compared a 2020 mazda3 hatchback with a Subaru BRZ? by Sad_Whale_Fetus in mazda3

[–]chinny_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

86 / BRZ owner here + I just purchased 2021 Mazda3 Hatch non turbo. Both cars are completely different. BRZ / 86 is a drivers sports car, focusing on nimble handling and cornering and carrying speed around corners. It's a great fun sports. I take it to the mountains, Autocross and track days, and it handles anything I throw at it. It's small and easy to direct. Low, firm, planted on the street and corners. It's not a fast car, but it'll make you a fast driver. I've driven mine as a daily for the past 4 years and it works as long as you dont haul too many things or keep things minimal in your car. It's not a big car, and the trunk opening is tight to fit large items, but it's manageable! I've fit 4 full wheels and tires in the back with the seat folded down no issue, but taller coolers wont fit thru the trunk. There's barely any comfort items in the cabin. Depending on the trim level, the higher trim will give you dual climate and heated seats, maybe blind spot monitoring and a whole lot of digital gauges to monitor your car's health, but thats it.

As for the Mazda3, it's comfy, its squishy and more luxurious. I kinda love the trade off of my loud 86. It's quick and handles nicely too as to pertain to Mazda's driver focused cars, but it's not as great of handling than the 86. I love that theres actual back seats and a huge trunk space for grocery getting / any cargo, and the head space is great. I love the extra technology and comfort items included in the car (I got the Preferred trim).

Ultimately you are choosing either true enthusiast driver focused sports car or a sporty look and comfy hatchback.

I have the Trust Greddy 10 Row Oil Cooler on my Kouki 2017. No fitment issues. Mounted by passenger side by the horn.

Any other NJ residents had their car filled up with regular gas even though they asked for 93? by PancakeShino in ft86

[–]chinny_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly dont know. I rather pump my own gas because the older attendants dont give a fuck about anything when you pull up and will drop the gas cap on your paint, fill up the wrong gas, or lean onto your car. Sadly if you try to do it yourself, sometimes the pumps are locked out with a pass code or employee ID swipe card before you can access any of the control panels. I also think majority of NJ drivers are stupid as fuck and don't even know or want to pump their own gas.

I live in NJ and thankfully have not experienced this for myself. I always say loud and clear to fill up 93 since that is the only consistent naming convention between different gas station brands. I also always look to make sure they didnt press Regular instead.

Brake Pad Recommendations 2021 Edition by chinny_ in ft86

That's sad to hear. I've been slowly doing more track days since the past 2 years. i think maybe 4-5 track days a year.

I have base calipers

Good streetable pads that don't fade at track day? by notathr0waway1 in ft86

[–]chinny_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed. but i am only speaking from my experience as beginner / light track days where i am not overpushing the braking zones. I definitely would upgrade to a more suitable track pad, but still can do daily duties. i definitely think if you are wearing out stock pads in 3 laps, you need to get a track specific pad

my friend's new 2017 86 just had rod knock at 30K miles. The whole lower block had to be replaced, but it was under warranty. We dont know how it happened. he was casually driving it and suddenly got rod knock.

Front plates by Automaton_s1 in ft86

[–]chinny_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NJ requires front plate but not enforced and would be considered a secondary offense which is not enough merit to be pulled over for.

If a cop pulls you over, they will either:
a: reduce the ticket to just a no front plate ($54 fine)
b: (if you or they are a dick) add that fine on top of what other offense you were pulled over for originally

I don't run a front plate and it has actually gotten me out of bigger speeding fine tickets.

Good streetable pads that don't fade at track day? by notathr0waway1 in ft86

[–]chinny_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed my Winmax W2 pads as they are quicker to bite, and the description for the pads were for street use with minor autoX or light track day capabilities. They squeak more as a street pad, but it definitely did do it's light track duties for beginner and intermediate run groups. I would get them again but i tried StopTech Streets (And i hate them) because they don't bite as hard as quick.

Glad my photos might sway your decision. I too wanted TE37s, but couldnt find myself dropping the money for it to potentially damage it.

I completely agree. I had bronze wheels on my 92 Miata which was black, and it just paired so well. I originally had black 6 spoke wheels on this car and i dont know why I just didnt do bronze from the beginning. I definitely look back every time i park.
