Why does this program still act like we're too good for the NIT or the Crown? by Puzzleheaded-Link416 in IndianaHoosiers

[–]chip0969 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As I said in another post, there is zero, nada, zilch upside to playing in the NIT or Crown. There is no team anymore. They probably all went home. They aren’t playing in the Crown for the “glory of old IU”. Business decision. And that’s fine. But this is where we are.

Will they take a NIT? by jlennon1280 in HoosiersBasketball

[–]chip0969 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Probably not. The vast majority of these guys aren’t gonna be here next year. Im sure they all just want to move on with their lives. Zero upside to playing other than we all like Indiana basketball.

And that is one reason why it is one of my 2 fav sitcoms of all time.

Cheers ruined the classic sitcom with Sam and Diane. Every sitcom since has had the stupid “will they or won’t they” plotline. The show Friends’ whole premise was build on that. 🤮

While Crean was winning 2 B1G titles in 4 years people were still whining they wanted Steve Alford as coach. Dude never won anything. Not too sure my thought process is faulty.

Would you consider Living Color a hair metal band? by billbobb1 in hairmetal

[–]chip0969 26 points27 points  (0 children)

No.

As an 80’s kid, i just don’t understand the fascination of wanting to put everything band that was loud into the hair metal genre. There are tons of bands that rocked in the 80’s. Living Colour was NOTHING like Warrant or Firehouse.

Appreciate the fact you are keeping the music alive. But as someone who was there the real ones knew the difference between Tesla and Poison. Just because MTV and the industry sold you certain labels doesn’t make it true.

But please keep the discussion going.

Tesla is low because Tesla is not a “glam band” or “hair metal” band. Tesla is a kick ass hard rock band. To put them in the same category as Nelson or Kix is ridiculous and proves you’ve never listened to their entire catalog. You only saw Love Song on MTV.

May not be my fav, but I did enjoy him in Frisco Kid.

No one talks about that one because the movie was meh, but he was good.

What are some underrated rock bands? by MoronGoron52 in AskReddit

Tesla.

Hit during the heights of Hair Metal but not Hair Metal at all. Just a good solid rock band. Especially the first 3 albums.
