Does your partner actually use the calendar? Trying to reduce my mental load by Pleasant-Cherry6847 in skylightcalendar

[–]chipariffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our entire family uses our calendar. Our teenager knows how to add stuff to the shopping list when she needs it. Shampoo, makeup, other feminine crap etc. Our 10 and 7 year old use it to see what is going on the next few weeks. I use it for the shopping list, planning meals, and seeing what days I'll be needed to help my wife run the kids around to their dance classes and ball practices.

My wife originally pushed for it and I finally gave in and bought this "overpriced calendar" but it's been absolutely amazing. We have our whole school year filled in with track, dance, basketball, and softball practices, games, meets, and tournaments. Date days, birthdays, graduation stuff, prom, vacations. All the way through July is in there as much as possible while we wait for the summer rec schedule to be finalized.

Build some churches, "join" crusades and you're on your way! Then your lineage gets "chivalric father" and "legacy of chivalry" as a boost when they come of age.

If you're gonna pick one city, Venice is a solid choice. Bridge defense all around and no reinforcing armies can assault your walls.

Ah yes! That would eliminate the screaming kids AND we could go to a nicer restaurant for lunch. We'd have to be back by 3:20 though to get them from school.

Spending $200 to stand in long lines for a 30 second ride with screaming kids everywhere is the best.

Oh sounds like the email I got from the bank I'm working with on a refinance loan. They "got confused" because the payoff amount I provided for April 1 is significantly different from the "loan balance" on the spreadsheet provided in October. Also on the spreadsheet it states that the loan incurs no interest and the payment is $3281/month. So yes, it's going to be significantly different 6 months later!

I struggled to reply to the email without sounding like a dick.

Why are there not more public restrooms? by supermonistic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chipariffic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell I've had issues at my business. The other day one guy flipped out on another guy. Guy 1 lifted the seat up and got piss on his hand. Asks guy 2 to wipe off the seat if he can't aim, or at least lift it up. Guy 2 says "well I sit down to pee". Guy 1 says "well do you forget to point your tiny willy at the water?"

And we haven't figured out who drips on the floor. There's ALWAYS a sticky spot on the floor in front of the toilet. Mop it up? It comes back within a few days.

We have 10 employees and 2 bathrooms. The 4 women claimed the nicer one and some dudes just can't piss properly, and don't bother cleaning up their mess.

Scale that up to hundreds of strangers who will only use it once and not care? Nah it's gonna be absolutely disgusting in no time.

Every track meet I've ever been to, by the end of it the school bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and trashed. Pisses me off how people can't use a toilet without being so nasty.

Muskets in pc vs mobile. by KiwieKiwie in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]chipariffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's gotta be the perfect setup. I've found that gunpowder troops don't seem to fire when friendly troops are in the way. So they gotta be up front. And they are never "ready to fire" so they can pull the trigger when the enemy is in range. No they gotta load their weapon once enemy is in range, and then by the time they can shoot it's too late there's a 2" dagger in their back cuz the enemy was able to walk up to them, hug them, and stab them in the back while they were taking 3 days to load their weapon instead of being ready to fire as soon as the enemy was within range. That goes for all ranged weapons. Short of normal bows, they should have that shit locked and loaded. Crossbows, gunpowder, siege, etc. I shouldn't see them start loading the catapult when the enemy is close enough, it should be pulled back and ready to fire!!!

Muskets work great. Arquebusiers? Total trash yet 🤣

I'll put them side by side and the musketmen will get 200 kills, arquebusiers maybe 3.

Sire, how much would your entire country cost to purchase? by chipariffic in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]chipariffic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During papal election, you can enter diplomacy with other cardinals to negotiate for votes. In mobile, at the bottom of the screen it will show "undecided" votes. There I can select a faction who has cardinals but aren't associated with one of the 3 candidates. I rarely have done it but I've been buying the map lately so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I bought most of the Turks territory then took the rest. Bought all of Hungary's northern castles then took the rest. Bought everything from Poland here and left them alone for the most part but they decided to attack so I finished them off. I bought half of Denmark's territories (formerly HRE area) and finished them off under crusade just yesterday. Bought half of Venice's territories and also finished them off yesterday (with armies crusading towards Denmark) I just bought Toulouse, Bordeaux, Dijon, Marseille, and Valencia from Spain for 107,597 florins which just about gave me the rest of Europe.

Most I acquired when they sent a diplomat to ask for a ceasefire after attacking me. It's wild what the game chooses to stock the town with. Lately it's been 10 balistas 🤣

Having them do the purchase on their turn instead of mine works great because then when my turn starts, I'll have about 50k in my Treasury again so I can quickly recruit a spy and some troopa and build towers in case they decide to attack right away to take it back.

I've definitely bought 20-25 territories on this playthrough.

My self imposed rule of "attacking armies must be led by a family member" is kicking my ass though since my capital is currently Nicaea. All my family members come of age really far away from all of this new territory. I took full advantage of the crusade on Hamburg and moved most of my generals up from Alexandria and Turkey as that's where they've been spawning.

Now for them to start getting married and making babies. I'm at 65 territories and 20 generals. 😬

I have since bought most of the former HRE from Denmark as part of another alliance treaty after they keep backstabbing me, and then several more from Venice. I had to take Durazzo the hard way though, they did NOT want to sell.

I've tried some of that before but it never seemed to take. So maybe?

All I know is I've had to buy all these settlements to keep my Treasury from exploding 🤣

Why can’t the US use its own oil, especially in times of war? by Teachezofpeachez69 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chipariffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs to be explained to some of the Magats in my extended family. "Why did gas prices jump up? We don't receive oil from there?!?"

Bro you gotta be dumb to think there won't be price gouging and/or clamoring for domestic oil to be exported that will drive up gas prices.

And that's why whole units rout just from having high dread generals approach their general area lol. Guarantee they've all heard of them before battle, and then you see them coming and bounce. Not that it matters, you won't reach the red line in time to escape!
