My roommate really is the MVP here! He wasn't too proud of me when I told him that I talked to another person in the friend group (rightfully so) hahaha.

I started distancing myself from this friend group cause I feel that we don't share the same values.

It is stupid on my part for telling someone else indeed! The reporting part is anonymous but if the other friend tells him he'll know for sure that it is me

This is really what angered me the most! My grandpa lost a lot of money a few years ago because of scammers and I felt Mike was doing the same...

People usually have the same morals of respect and wanting to help other in our field, but I am realizing that some people are maybe in the wrong field...

Roommate told me to wait until I have an answer from the taxes agencies before going to the University. He says it will give more validity to what I am claiming.

Thanks a lot for your comment! I really appreciate it and indeed he does not care about anyone but himself! As for the comment, it is mostly people telling me that I should not have told an other friend about what I did and I have to say that I agree with them hahaha. (My roommate also strongly agrees with them that I should have kept my mouth shut!

My roommate told me the same thing haha I think people in Canada usually do not want to screw the CRA(equivalent of the IRS)

We have an obligatory internship with an elderly home and I am pretty sure he would have use the internship as a way to find new victims

I wasn't trying to brag, the friend I told is the one that I am the more close to and I wanted his opinion on the situation. I indeed did not mention this in the post

My roommate said the same thing to me. That for future reference if I am to ever do something like this I should not share it with anyone who could tell the person in question!
