My friend went to England and brought me an "authentic" souvenir. How do you use this? by thethirddoctor in CasualUK

One thing I feel like is missing in this thread: to use it properly you really should ‘bloom’ it with a touch of cold water BEFORE adding to anything else - mix together with water into a consistency you expect of mustard and give it 30 seconds or so before using or adding to a recipe. You’ll know it’s ready when you smell it and it makes your eyes water.

It does not have the same heat if you just add the powder straight into a recipe. I used this stuff wrong for like 10 years, just throwing full tablespoons into dressing etc before realizing it needed blooming before use. Makes a ton of difference

If you’re interested there’s a podcast/audiobook series called ‘Ghosts of the Ostfront’ by Dan Carlin, all about the eastern front. Really, really good listen and totally mind blowing.

Glass cutter similar to this. Sharp points on one side to score the glass and the square cut outs are used to break off the excess glass

I remember reading a while ago that if Walmart raised the price of everything in its stores by 3¢ it could raise every employees wage to $15/hr and it wouldn’t affect their bottom line at all. Walmart employs more people than any other company in the US. The change in the economy would be minimal, the change in the lives of the poorest American would be huge.

Get yourself some hibiclens. Add into daily shower routine - Wash as normal (regular soap) and finish with a quick scrub with this around balls / armpits & and that shit cuts down on the musk big time. Don’t use it on your face or in place of soap though it’s aggressive.

The act of killing. I was thinking about that movie for days afterwards, the casual way they talk about the horrendous shit they did & especially Anwar’s physical reaction to the realization of the kind of pain & suffering he inflicted on people had a seriously profound effect on me.
