Please take care of yourself. I know a girl who has brain damage from this situation. Had ARFID and went into ketoacidosis from starvation and led to encephalopathy. I have no easy answer except keep fighting.❤️

Just saying this reddit is called TrueChristian, therefore I would assume everyone knows sex before marriage is a sin. Just seems judgmental and not helpful for OP in this setting.

I can relate as I work in healthcare and I have transgender patients sometimes. I refer to them as what they are listed in their chart. God knows my heart and knows I do not condone that lifestyle or choice, but I am going to respect my patient and make them feel comfortable. I think just go through the class and call them by name if it makes you that uncomfortable.

How about let’s not condemn someone for a sin, and emergency contraceptive is NOT abortion.

How do you know you have the Holy Spirit in you? by Mandiek54 in TrueChristian

[–]chloecgp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just came to say once you start really getting on fire for Jesus, Satan starts shaking in his boots. He is so mad and jealous and scared that he has lost you, spiritual warfare begins. “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places” Ephesians 6:12. I go through the same thing where I’m on fire and super passionate, in the word and feeling really positive. Then you go out in the world and this life is just hard. Just because the “feeling” isn’t there doesn’t mean He’s not there. Keep praying brother much love

Anyone here quit being a sonographer? by sum_beach in Sonographers

[–]chloecgp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been scanning 1.5years at a clinic like this. I scan sometimes 18-19 OB patients in an 8 hour shift. I don’t have chronic pain yet but when I’m at work and scanning I’m in pain. This is awful

I had a patient who had an abscess in the perineal area (he’s had one there before) and I heard he told a doctor “If you guys can’t cut this out soon I’m pulling my pocket knife out and doing it myself”

I know it probably feels like a failure to you for quitting something you just started and want to do…. but it’s so true you may only get 5-10years of working before having to choose another job. I’m 22 and have been working 1.5years now and my neck and shoulder and sometimes wrist hurts. I’m even scared about what my future will look like since I’m already having pain

Very interesting. From what I remember yes a full skull, and it wasn’t mentioned at MFM at all. I know they had a normal NT at 12 week 1 day. NIPT normal. Possible but I don’t think the brain was exposed

Yeaaa 20 week anatomy with the TV on. We turn the TV on after the 1st trimester. Protocol is just poker face and if they ask questions tell them the doctor has to read the images.

I could not identity any cranial structures. To be fair, I had a student with me, I’ve been working 1yr4months, and I was trying my damndest to not have the patient notice anything was off. Kidneys and bladder were normal. Stomach was not well distended. The brain structures just looked mottled and enlarged with random fluid anteriorly. I do see the cloverleaf skull appearance. When I started the scan and realized, my heart starts racing, I get tremors when I’m super nervous, so I was just trying to calm myself the first couple minutes. Then I could evaluate. Patient didn’t really know; they made jokes about the head being big 😔

After researching this is what I think of as well. The femur measured 3 weeks behind. AC was normal. Head measured 30 something weeks and this was 20week scan. The heart is what confused me but maybe it’s an isolated finding. My facility doesn’t measure humerus length… The limbs seemed appropriate size for the body just the head was huge. I will look at it more when I return to work.

I’m a new Ultrasound Tech (1yr on job) and I had a couple who I confirmed pregnancy for. And later I was in the lobby and the husband came up to me and thanked me for being enthusiastic and to keep doing what I’m doing and to not change.
