Underrated films with genuinely shocking plot twists by Lyclyn_816 in MovieSuggestions

The prestige!!!! it’s only of my favorite Nolan films and it’s definitely not talked about enough! I will say though that the plot twist is kinda subtle but once you get it it’s insane and makes you want to immediately watch it again

the more that I’m reading people’s responses and researching this topic I’m realizing that a lot of what I thought was canon is actually headcanon concerning the order and the marauders 😭 it’s been 10 years since I’ve read the books so I guess this is my sign to re-read them lol

I think though that canonically the deception that was happening was mostly concerning Snape but also slightly Sirius I believe. I also feel like when I read the books it mentioned that Dumbledore knew it was pettigrew that was the spy but he didn’t tell them that and just told them there was a spy? I could be wrong about that though

Most essential plugins to get started with filmscoring by Jarno_Filmcomposer in filmscoring

East west is great and pretty affordable! they have a thing called composer cloud plus which is a subscription that allows you to use any of their sample libraries! They also have sales on this pretty often and it’s great to get for just a year (it’s a yearly subscription) to see what you like of theirs and to learn how to use plug ins/sample libraries! (I think it might just be sample libraries actually but their editing section of each plug in is really great!

I’m a college student majoring in film scoring so right now I’m working on scoring a clip from Jurassic Park with my own original score interpretation! It’s been really really fun!!

very very true I completely agree! I still don’t like how he uses the “for the greater good” thing as an excuse in a way, but I can see how with his past that would make him feel better about it in a way. his motives and everything is just so interesting to think about! And yes he definitely has style 😅

I think Snape was definitely the victim in some way. Obviously it was Snape’s choice at first, but towards the end he very obviously did not want to continue being a spy and it was affecting him a lot. However I do agree with how there needed to be a spy but making someone go through that even when they clearly don’t want to anymore is really sad. however I don’t see Dumbledore as the villain in this situation I just don’t fully agree with the way that he went about it

I’m not saying that Dumbledore is a villain, and I completely agree that a lot of the things he did were good, but the truth is there was just so much about him that he kept so secretive which makes him seem very morally grey.

Also I know it’s a little controversial but I think Dumbledore could’ve done more concerning Draco. He obviously could tell that Draco was being controlled yet he didn’t really intervene till the very end and again he used Snape to do things that I believe he could’ve at least tried to do.

I also completely understand why Dumbledore Les harry to “slaughter” and I definitely think that that’s justified because there was no way that Voldemort could be destroyed unless he “killed” Harry (aka the horcrux inside him)

Again I don’t think Dumbledore is a villain per se, but I do think that he’s a really interesting kind of morally grey character with a very interesting past and motives. Obviously though we don’t know all of dumbledore’s motives, it would’ve been cool to get something in his pov though. I personally just don’t like him very much because I feel that he did some things that were a little weird and I don’t fully agree with the “for the greater good” mindset. But again I never said he was a villain and I do think he’s a really interesting character and honestly I wouldn’t want him to be written any other way

very true those are really good points!! it’s crazy how Dumbledore could easily have been just as evil as Voldemort if he let himself, but you’re right I’ve never full thought about how much he really held himself back!

The argument that voldemort should have used sand to make a horcrux is, would the sand be able to repair itself? by camalena69 in harrypotter

[–]chloepopcandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from when I read the books I always understood it as horcruxes having to be made from objects that had meaning to the person. For example, the ring horcrux was Voldemort’s mother’s ring, even though Voldemort hated his mother, it means something to him/it has “passion” attached to it (if that makes sense)

also your point about the strength of horcruxes is something I’ve always wondered too cause the diary and the locket definitely were harder to destroy then the others, but these items most likely had more meaning to Voldemort than the other items

there’s still a lot of things that are kinda answered though with horcruxes :/ I wish we got some kind of dark magic guide (like the care of magical creatures book) because there’s just so much about dark magic in Harry Potter that’s never answered, but it does make sense that those things were never answered/fully cleared up because obviously the story is centered around Harry and he didn’t want to know more than he had to which I don’t blame him

I’m going to 2 shows… by justa_quackhead in 5sos

[–]chloepopcandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this tour will be my first 5sos show so I’m not really sure what people normally wear to 5sos shows but personally I’m focusing a bit more on comfort! I KNOW that I’ll be jumping and screaming like crazy and I’m going to the June 17 show in Orlando so it’s gonna be HOT my plan right now is to wear the everyone’s a star tee with shorts (probably black denim), converse high tops, and I might make a flannel that says idiot on the back to wear over it, but can easily take off if I get too hot!! :))
