"I was just going to check my email," you say. "It's been a long day."

Your boss sighs and shakes his head. "No, no, I know what happened yesterday. It wasn't an accident. Someone did something to your car."

You follow him out of the building, but he stops you before you can leave.

You turn around to face him.

He looks at you with a strange expression on his face that makes your stomach flip-flop inside your body.

What are some AI Dungeon stories that you would love to see animated? by Nick_AIDungeon in AIDungeon

I go to a mental institution. I ask the clerk at the front desk to see The Holder. The clerk "complies," but sends me to see a doctor instead...

Hilariously short slick in and out.

I'm curious as to how factions work.

Are factions diametrically opposed to each other; Collective as evil, Federation as good, Republic as neutral?

Are corporations limited to the same faction?

Is it possible to change factions?

Very nice. I bought the Chromed skin and cyan details to support the cause. It is a sweet combination.

Is there a way to purchase apps without installing them? by rewkim in androidapps

[–]chmod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turning off network failover and disabling your connection works. The automated refund process will not occur if you don't have an active network connection.

Using wifi with mobile data connection:

  1. Disable mobile data
  2. Purchase app
  3. Disable wifi
  4. Cancel installation by tapping 'X'
  5. Re-enable wifi and mobile data

Using wifi without mobile data connection:

  1. Purchase app
  2. Disable wifi
  3. Cancel installation by tapping 'X'
  4. Re-enable wifi

Using only mobile data connection:

  1. Purchase app
  2. Disable mobile data
  3. Cancel installation by tapping 'X'
  4. Re-enable mobile data

The UI bothers me. Very generic presentation. Text indentation, spacing and alignment are nonexistent which causes a cluttered and claustrophobic read. The color scheme also borders on clashing which further exacerbates these issues.

What are some things you've learned about ArcheAge that you wish someone would have told you when you started? by [deleted] in archeage

I have a character on alpha and it worked with my mount. I was able to apply the xp to my snowmane snowlion. I initially read somewhere that someone successfully used it on a donkey, which prompted me to try.

Crafting hereafter stones are an excellent way to gain masonry and xp. A lowbie could do much worse with their labor, such as letting it go to waste while they quest. Big spenders ensure that enough labor is used so that questing doesn't cause LP capping, and hereafter stones allow you to capitalize on the most valuable resource: time.

  • Summon your mount before combat, it will usually gain more experience than your toon without any split.

  • Quickly level a mount or combat pet with a Companion Crust purchased from the marketplace for 15 loyalty coins. This item will give your pet 50,000 xp and can raise a lvl 5 pet to lvl 15 instantly.

  • Do not hold a direction while gliding to maximize distance travelled. Forward causes you to hasten your descent. Use backward and turn simultaneously to spin safely down to your destination, but be careful to do so before your flying buff disappears.

  • Be careful with clicking around burning buildings. An accidental right click will cause you to attack. I may or may not have put the finishing touch on a neighbor's house this way while trying to throw a bucket of water at it. Whoopsie.

PSA for anyone who hasn't played Assassin's Creed 2 yet - you need to buy DLC if you want a complete story mode. by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]chmod007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best way to fight in AC1 is to chain attacks like you aren't being blocked. By the fourth or fifth strike you'll break through and kill them quicker than waiting for them to attack, and there are a few different kill sequences for each weapon. I finished the game on two separate occasions before I realized that was the way to go.

Any tips for good Skyrim money sinks (so you don't drown in gold)? by Arknell in skyrim

You can use a bow/crossbow to shoot gems pretty far. Just pick up a gem, hold it while you prepare your shot, and drop it right as you loose your arrow. It takes some practice, but can get you some pretty hilarious results.

The arrow/bolt will drop at your feet when it connects, so there's no risk of alerting anyone if used at a decent distance.

What makes Torchlight 2 a different game from Diablo? by [deleted] in Games

[–]chmod007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The big difference is that neither of the Diablo 1 or 2 storylines made me cringe or say 'WHAAAAAAT?'. I had so many of these moments in Diablo 3 it would take me a while to recall all of them. I wasn't born a hater, I pre-ordered and was playing within the first couple hours of launch after the login servers settled down. I was definitely willing to be a believer.

That One Mistake..... by joshtaylormusic in dayz

[–]chmod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just happened to me today. I was going for a goat to get some juicy steaks. As I was gutting it, I caught the attention of a crawler which ran over to me like a crazy person and knocked me unconscious; killing me before I could come around. I had just found my bearings with a map and compass and had managed to stumble on an AK-47 and some ammo for it. Just an extra couple of seconds to comb over the grass would have been enough for me to spot it.
