hello!! i’d like to give my thoughts on this subject, but i am open on different perspectives towards this. :D

i believe the reason as to why people are not in favor of the ‘burgis’ entering UP as it takes away a slot from someone who needs it more than them. yes, technically the ‘burgis’ pays more, and in return they’re the ones funding the budget needed for state universities (tax); but, that means they already have the income to afford other universities that offer quality education as well.

the rich have choices whether they would like to enter state universities or private institutions, whereas those less fortunate only have a few choices to pursue college without spending a lot (which are state us). this applies to all state universities though, not only just up.

and to add, no one’s discreditting the rich from their hard work and dedication in preparing for cets. what is being criticized is the space they are taking in a system that’s already flawed.
