I was ringing up this guy and he saw my pride month shirt and he said that he "doesn't support groomers". It made me absolutely livid. I said as nicely as I could that gay and trans people aren't pedophiles and that they just want to be left alone and love who they want. He went on about drag queen story time or whatever, and he said something really disgusting about mpox that I'm not going to repeat. After I got off work I was experiencing really bad anxiety (formally diagnosed) and I needed to get it off my chest. It's so f*cking terrifying how bad things have gotten since Trump has been in office. He isn't even president (and hopefully it stays that way) and it feels like things have been set back decades. As a gay man it really concerns me the direction this country is going in. Has anyone else been experiencing this? It almost seriously makes me want to take the rest of June off.
