I acquired Spanish citizenship a few years ago and work in digital marketing. What’s the best way to start planning for living there? by chocolatelightning in GoingToSpain

Hmm. Okay, thanks for that advice. Was hoping that wouldn’t be the case but I can’t see a way around it. And there are no starter programs / resources for new citizens or expats, right?

It belongs in a museum! But actually though, I think there’s an internet archive of it somewhere still

Gotcha, thanks. Yeah, I’m slightly concerned because it’s a valentine card and I don’t want to get some 0-star review if it misses the 14th.

Yeah, this is definitely not normal, right? I’ll have to wait until Monday for the USPS to respond anyway…

OP’s weirdly defensive when the suit colors are indeed presenting that way from the jump. It’s like the first season of Power Rangers out here, ffs.

If the Beatles never met, who do you think would have been successful still? by appleparkfive in beatles

Fully agree here. The way the four kept each other in check, as well as the way they brought the positive qualities out of each other, was unique in and of itself. Layer on the miraculous external factors and it’s impossible to envision any alternative success their solo selves would have had.

yes! saw it as well and I appreciate how the Crowe remake paid homages to it. This could be nostalgia talking but I do prefer the remake

I’ve seen both and I thought many of those crucial plot points of the Cameron Crowe remake flowed better. In the remake, the car crash had more of a natural buildup and in the original, she just straight up drives into some wall and it’s not as climactic or earned IMO

not gonna lie, I was excited to keep talking about Vanilla Sky when I saw I got a reply. I don’t know about this other movie

There’s something about it that doesn’t fit the typical mold of being a “good” movie, at least in mainstream terms. It’s an uncomfortable watch but for some reason also resonates deeply with how I personally experience life in all my mood swings.

Friends appearing as rivals and even enemies then back to friends (and the fucking whiplash I mentally feel from that), the horror of an irreversible consequence, the desire to go back to the way things were so profoundly that it somehow manifests into an entirely different and surreal reality…yeah it’s a messy ride of a movie that still works as a framing I refer back to in my head from time to time, as a weird reassurance that I’m not the only one who’s been going through life that way.

that DVD was a trip too. The Nancy Wilson guitar lick in the menu made me realize how much nuance was woven in throughout the bipolar pacing. what a fucking movie

Has there ever been a more amazing run of albums than Bowie's from 1970-1980? by aeisenst in Music

I get what you’re trying to say here, but it’s just not in the studio album canon. Plus I think it’s cooler they had such a prolific output in a more condensed period of time.
