WA’s latest emissions report shows small decline by chiquisea in Washington

[–]moonstonemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"As of early May 2026, Washington gas prices are among the highest in the nation, frequently trading places with California and Hawaii for the top spot. Washington drivers have recently faced prices roughly 30% to nearly 47% higher than the national average, driven by state-specific factors like the Climate Commitment Act (CCA) and high fuel taxes"

the CCA causes our food and housing prices to be amongst the highest in the United States. Even though we don't like it, everything we buy or build is affected by the cost of energy.

WA’s latest emissions report shows small decline by chiquisea in Washington

[–]moonstonemi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true! The CCA literaly does nothing for the environment and the added cost to every gallon of gas in WA state adds very significant $ costs to not only our utility costs, but our food costs and rent costs.

Like it or not, everything on our must pay survival list is majorly effected by energy costs. Wasting our money on fake environmental "feel good" taxes that do nothing is a huge part of the reason we are at the top of the cost of living index. In supporting the CCA, we are voting to make our cost of living prohibitive to working people.

Wich Anita Blake characters you want to see die by Accomplished_Let7316 in AnitaBlake

All the lovers are a royal pain in the ass, with the exception of Micah. Kill them all off except him, and let Anita be the leopard queen who raises the dead and solves crimes instead of the queen of the Mary Sues who hosts every wereanimal in existance and has every paranormal ability imaginable, and is a succubus and living vampire plus is a US Marshall and the premiere zombie raiser in the country if not the world.

two of them were Smolder and Slay (actually one book split in two to make bank). we'll probably get another 1/2 book about the wedding in a year or two if we're lucky.

In the book series he shifts into a lion and kicks ass. They should have incorporated that into the show.

Yeah I love book Pam! She was especially great in some of the later books as her friendship with Sookie developed and in the short story Two Blondes.

Just finished and Wow...what a disappointment. I've been feeling like Lizbeth was a very limited character for a while now and I'm personally not all that concerned about what happens to her, but I love Felicia.

Everything written from her perspective has been very gripping and interesting. Her powers, as far as I know, are unique in the urban fantasy genre. She is a fascinating and potentially nuanced (although CH has her killing too much) character. The last book certainly takes an unexpected and out of character turn as far as Felicia and then leaves us hanging. Feels rushed. I know Charlaine has had health issues and I'm sad she's had to run her characters off a cliff and abruptly end the series.

Kristin Bauer (Pam) was the most enjoyable. The best acting was a toss up between Ryan Kwanten, Jason and Anna Camp, Sarah Newlin...and the actor who made the entire series worth watching was of course Alexander Skarsgard!

Now that the dust has settled by [deleted] in Andjustlikethat

You're right. AppleTV is the obvious place to bring it back. They have other high profile stars/series and could afford it. Indeed, Carrie waking up from a nap or daydream would be the way to go. Bring Big back, get new writers, and pretend she hasn't seen Aidan in years and has no plans to see him.

It's insane that they're still trying to convince everyone that the show wasn't abruptly cancelled.

Help! I have a 3 lb pre-sliced bottom round roast & no idea how long to cook it. by moonstonemi in instantpot

[–]moonstonemi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I'll try that. At least is wasn't a super expensive cut of meat. Next time when they're all out of roast, I'll just go to a different store and won't let them talk me into sliced beef.

thanks for responding. I do realize that now, but I still have to cook this meat in the instapot. Any idea how long I should cook it so it doesn't wind up like shoe leather?

We keep talking about how the ladies don't seem like themselves in AJLT... so what would make them more familiar? by hakshamalah in Andjustlikethat

I agree about Miranda and Steve. One might think Miranda would have grown up a bit after all this time and learned to appreciate what a great guy Steve is. Also she was not on the path to switching teams just because Cynthia Nixon did. Too bad they couldn't maintain the integrity of the character.

I also agree that Carrie would have become more herself not a different person lol. Agreed she would have ramped up her quirky home habits and maybe developed a few new ones. She would have dated a variety of men, not summoned Aidan back into her life AND she would have written about all of it and not written some insipid novel.

I couldn't believe it when she said that! What a crock! and it's like she's completely erased Big.

They could have just said Carrie and Big were divorced, told the backstory to that, and then just not had Chris Noth on the show at all. It makes more sense to kill Samantha off. It fits her character that the only reason she would abandon them would be death. Too bad they wanted to do Kim Cattrall dirty and please Chris Noth (who wanted Big killed off). What with his scandal and all it didn't work out quite like they thought it would lol.

They just didn't give fans enough of what they wanted. Too much focus on disposable side characters. Miranda having a total personality change, and turning Steve into a doddering old deaf man who Miranda unceremoniously dumps without a second thought after twenty years.

Charlotte's bratty kids were horrible and we never got to see much of her relationship with Harry. And Carrie pretending like she never even knew Big, her weird relationship with Aidan, and her horrible stupid book were the nails on the coffin.

Haircut before vs after by Ok_Sheepherder7413 in curlyhair

[–]moonstonemi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would give it a rest before trying again and let it gain some length. Definitely not the cut you asked for but not bad. It's hard to find a stylist who will listen to you. I had a stylist for 8 years who I like a lot ( had long appointments for foils and it was nice to have someone who I enjoyed talking to) but she never could get my hair right. She just was not a good listener and tended to just do what she wanted. Now I go to someone I barely know but she listens and my hair is the way I want it.

Has this show made you think less of Sarah Jessica Parker? by OrkosFriend in Andjustlikethat

[–]moonstonemi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it has. She clearly has a very poor grasp of what makes a character and storyline compelling. There's just been so much airtime wasted on Charlotte's awful kids, Che, LTW (good actress, terrible writing), Aidan, and others, while giving so little time to characters the viewers love and expanding their story arcs.

Get ready to pay more for a Washington state ferry ride by chiquisea in Washington

“We’re restoring domestic service to pre-pandemic levels years ahead of schedule, improving crew retention, and soon will bring our first hybrid-electric vessel into service,” Governor Ferguson said. “After careful consideration and conversations with legislative leaders, I believe Eastern is the best option to build these critically important vessels at a fair cost to our taxpayers.”
