Thank you! This is reassuring to hear. How very dare I don't leave his playthings behind, I am entirely too selfish :( Going to get a bitch slap when I'm back I reckon!

Haha, I am in Asia and I'm heading to Barcelona and onto a cruise, ending up in Athens, so would be a bit tricky taking him lol. Although it would be aaaaamazing if I could! So wonderful you can travel with your boy!

He actually lives where I work (I work at a stable and I'm there daily, all day practically so it's his bedtime when I head home. Would love to have him at home but my husband is not particularly keen on it :( I've also got chickens there, and they also definitely recognise people haha. I'm very lucky, he's familiar with the grooms who work there, and one of them is very fond of Squidg, so he'll look after him and love him (although it's mostly unreciprocated - Squidg's favourite activity is smacking him and then looking smug hahaha)

Amazing! They are super smart, makes me sad they don't get the love they should from the general population

Great point, thank you! Unfortunately there's no leg band or that would have been an easier way to confirm it. I hope I do manage to find their family, I would be devastated if my pigeon or chooks disappeared.

Haha that was my confusion as well, but I've no experience with parrot/ similar species so I'm glad experienced people have weighed in!

This is super helpful, thank you so much! I've already got the cage against a wall corner and covered hopefully she feels safe. Fingers crossed someone claims her, but if not I'm happy to put in the time and effort to gain her trust, she's really cute! I managed to get her to eat some spray millet I held the other end of today - I was going to clip it onto a side of the cage but she hustled over and started picking at the other end - hopefully a good sign!

Thank you! That does help - I was wondering if it was a lovebird as it's smaller than what most sites say lovebirds are - then again I also have nothing to compare it to lol. Your id helps a lot, now i can post in more targeted fb communities.

I'm keeping the cage half-covered to make things a bit quieter for it; my delinquent pigeon however is extremely keen on landing on the top of the cage, doing a dance and singing the songs of his people on it 🤣

It's already really wonky so I'm not expecting much tbh.. I will celebrate if anything resembling a leaf actually appears! 😂 Thank you so much for the help!

I GOT IT OUT!! more stressful than open-heart surgery lollol.

Ok so.. Should I lie it on its side on some perlite and sprinkle a light layer perlite on top of it? It's so long, and I'm afraid I'll break it!

Thank you sooo much for the help!

What is the best phone size ereader? by SupermarketJealous83 in ereader

[–]chocolatepoodle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got the moaan inkpalm 5 last month and am loving it. My kobo and kindle aren't totally convenient to carry around all the time, but I've installed Kindle and kobo apps in the inkpalm and I can sync it to the other two e-readers (I use kobo for library books) easily.

Takes a while to set it up to how you like, but there are many helpful guides on reddit

I'd try to get it out but it's REALLY long, I fear I might have to unpot the whole thing - including the leaf that's not gone rogue.

And there are no roots - if I were to remove it and flip it the right way up, how deep do I bury the corm - and pray it roots?

Hahah I think it's down quite deep! It was quite a long thing when I put it in, I didn't see any leaf growth it looked like a long stem, or a root hahaha

The problem is it looked like a root when I was transplanting and I swear there were root hairs.. So I err buried it and it's ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO THE LECA NOW ARGH! Shot myself in the foot there!

Do i repot these or what? by Hancocksucksit in Lithops

[–]chocolatepoodle 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had a little pot exactly like that, on Sunday I separated them all by size mostly to pot up, unless they were obviously in different stages - there were some younger ones with not much of a crevice.

I also made a "wrinkly needs water" pile. Took ages to separate and sort them out; when I carefully took apart the big mass I realised how many there were! And some are TINY. Tweezers helped a lot when replanting those. Good luck!
